A 2 Billion dollar bid by Steve Ballmer of Microsoft fame.
Unfuckingbelievable!!!!
Some dollars and sense- the Clippers current television contracts pays the team $20M a year. From my understanding that number could rise to $200M a year.
I'm certain ticket prices and luxury suite prices will rise because of this impending sale.
Ballmer is reported to be worth $20B.
This is an ego purchase for him. It's the ultimate ego boost for rich people.
Paying that much for an NBA franchise means Ballmer won't move the team to Seattle.
Wow!

the isla vista maniac...
I'm not going to mention his name.
He was a smart kid and a talented writer. I read a good portion of his manifesto and it was well written, written better than many who make a living as writers.
Before reading his manifesto, I kind of put some blame on his parents. Divorced like many in this day and age.
He was getting psychological help and he was getting mentored by individuals, one being a young woman a year or so older than him. Those who mentored him were paid.
I think his parents should have hired a young woman to have sex with him. The girlfriend experience- pricey, but less than the price of 3 handguns this young maniac purchased.
He had a skewed sense of self worth.
Some more thoughts- being addicted to video games doesn't help one deal with reality. Having divorced parents and having issues with your step-mom isn't good for a kid with self esteem issues.
Unfortunately, divorced parents is the norm nowadays. And having easy access to handguns makes acting out ones violent fantasies become a reality.

miami dolphins
A fucked up organization. Just read Miami fired a scout who has worked for the team for 17 years. This gentleman has been working from his home since 2004 to take care of his wife suffering from cystic fibrosis.
Whether he wasn't doing his job up to par for the new GM- the timing is terrible considering all problems of the Richie Incognito/Jonathan Martin bullying situation.
Apparently, the new insensitive GM didn't think the scout working remotely worked for him?
One of the bullying culprits head case center Mike Pouncey has yet to be punished and the Dolphins actually extended his rookie contract a year. Idiot Pouncey also had the audacity to tweet after Miami drafted an offensive lineman in the 1st round that he was looking forward to all the gifts the rookie will give him. Even if it was in jest, the bullying doesn't stop...
Moron Pouncey also wore a FREE HERNANDEZ t-shirt last year. Aaron Hernandez has yet to be convicted of multiple murders and I know dumb shit Pouncey was a teammate and good friend of Hernandez at Florida, but making that choice of wearing that shirt is unbelievably stupid.
DB Don Jones tweeted homophobic remarks after openly gay Michael Sam was drafted by the St. Louis Rams. Jones basically got a slap on the wrist.
The head coach is ultimately responsible for his players. Joe Philbin is 15-17 in his two seasons as head coach- a crappy record, but worse he has allowed so much inappropriate behavior by his players during his regime.
A few summers ago watching HBO's HARD KNOCKS, I could tell Philbin was in way over his head as a head coach.
If Philbin lasts beyond the 2014 season, I will be very surprised.

sean lee...
Middle linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys. Great player, but injury prone. He tore his ACL and is out for the 2014 season.
I feel bad for young Sean Lee. He just can't stay on the field.
I hope he recovers and is ready for the 2015 season.
This makes it both knees where he tore an ACL.
The worst part of this whole ordeal, Lee was injured during OTA Organized Team Activity, basically a mini camp. And it involved the Cowboys #1 draft pick guard Zack Martin of Notre Dame.

toilet seat covers...
Strange topic, but too many times I've tried to secure the covers from the box in a public restaurant and the container is freshly opened- it's fucking difficult to get one without it being torn and I end up throwing away 2-3. What a fucking waste!
In the Tampa area toilet seat covers are rare to see.

donald trump...
He's a buffoon. He's not going to buy the Buffalo Bills. He's not going to run for POTUS in 2016.
He's such a buffoon, he doesn't realize twitter is his worse enemy.
However, in that minuscule chance that Trump buys the Bills, they might as well rename the team the Buffalo Buffoons.

aaron hernandez...
The ex-Patriot tight end has yet to be convicted of three charges of first degree murder, but under the definition of what constitutes being a serial killer, he qualifies if he is guilty as charged.
The Boston Globe has done a great job of covering these tragic events.
I just find it so sad that someone who was so talented on the football field and with a $40M contract would ruin his life through unnecessary violence.
From reading several articles about Hernandez, many of the incidents which allegedly resulted in violence happened inside or around nightclubs.
People say and I say, nothing good happens after midnight. And when alcohol is involved, anything can happen...
Kids will be kids and they want to party and have fun, but the facts are the facts- hanging out in nightclubs is dangerous. People run into each other and get into fights in that crowded atmosphere fueled by liquid courage. Alcohol doesn't make one fight better, it allows people to make bad decisions.
