happy new year...

I want to wish everyone a wonderful 2009... I always think positive and strive for the new year to be the best year in my life. And for some reason, I know 2009 will be the most crucial year of NY's being...

capital restaurant...

No, it's not in Sacramento. It's located @ 838 Clay St. near Waverly or between Stockton and Grant. I've been there about three times. I'm not totally sold on this joint, but for the second time I ordered their chicken wings and they're excellent! It's funny, because the first time I tried the wings, I thought they were fair @ best...

Yes, I will be back to nosh on their salt and pepper chicken wings...

press club...

The wine bar in Yerba Buena Lane that houses eight wineries.

The problem with this place is that you can only buy flights of tastes. You can't buy a full glass or a bottle to drink on the premises. You can buy a bottle to take home.

I'm writing to his post to give props to Lauren of Saintsbury Vineyard. She's a very young lady, but she's extremely well versed in wine. Matter of fact, she's a sommelier.

Also, most of my recent posts have been about sports. I need to balance things out a bit...

mike martz...

Just fired by the Niners per Mike Singletary.

I've never been a Martz fan, but he deserved another season as offensive coordinator. There hasn't been any continuity in this position for seven seasons.

It's probably a blessing in disguise for Martz. There are @ least four open NFL head coaching jobs as I write this post. Mike Shanahan was just fired. And I think the next one to go is Herm Edwards- which will make it five openings.

I'd like to see Norm Chow return to the NFL and become OC of the Niners...

Or how about Mike Shanahan returning to San Francisco as offensive coordinator and helping Singletary transition into becoming a winning playoff bound head coach...

america's team...

I was so very happy that the Eagles beat the shit out of the hapless Cowboys. My dislike for overrated Tony Romo has escalated after he put blame on his fellow overrated offensive coordinator Jason Garrett. Romo said that offensive schemes were the reason for the thrashing by Philly's defense.

This kid must take responsibility for his horrible ball handling and decision making in December.

He's more interested in dating bimbo singers and getting on Sports Center commercials. And he practically begged to be included in the last years AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

I believe this ugly kid has talent, but a great quarterback wins in December.

Romo is a total fuck up when it counts...

emerald bowl...

Great win for CAL! Running back Jahvid Best will be a Heisman Candidate next season. It was fricking cold @ AT&T last night. I needed a couple more layers, a blanket, and a cap.

Senior linebacker Zack Follett had a tremendous game and I guarantee he'll be playing on Sundays next season...

Monday, December 22, 2008

mike singletary...

The Niners are 4-4 since he took over. And with mediocre talent, I might add...

The Yorks are definitely idiots, but if they don't hire Singletary to become head coach and take that interim tag off- they are fucking morons!!!

After viewing average quarterback play this season by both Hill and O'Sullivan, I'm even thinking that San Francisco should give bust Alex Smith one last shot...

Mike Singletary will be a head coach next season and if isn't with the Niners, hardcore fans should call for the Yorks to sell the team to someone competent...

utopia cafe...

One of my spots in C-Town. The joint closes @ 10pm. Their signature item is their clay pots. On a cold day in the City- those suckers hit the spot! I had a chicken and mushroom clay pot on Saturday night...

Utopia Cafe. 139 Waverly between Clay and Washington.

milk...

I just saw the film @ Embarcadero Center Cinema starring Sean Penn. Penn was simply phenomenal in the lead role as Supervisor Harvey Milk.

Josh Brolin looked nearly exactly like killer/supervisor Dan White.

Directed by Gus Van Sant, this movie in my opinion is @ least ten to twenty years overdue.

The assassination of Milk and Mayor Moscone happened 30 years ago.

I remember that day...

ron gould...

He's the running back coach @ CAL who has produced seven straight 1000 yard rushers. And the only individual during that time that ran for over 1000 in two consecutive years is Marshawn Lynch, now with the Buffalo Bills. That means, Gould has coached six different running backs who have ran for over a 1000 yards in a season...

In 2005, Justin Forsett ran for 999 yards, Marshawn ran for over 1200 yards that season. One yard separated CAL from having two 1000 yard backs that season. Current Seahawk, Forsett ran for over 1500 yards his senior season in 2007.

Jahvid Best is near 1400 yards this year and since bowl games count, I hope he runs for over 100 yards in the Emerald Bowl against Miami, which will put him @ around 1500 yards for the season.

Great article in the Chron by Rusty Simmons on a running back coach who's in a class by himself...

that idiot governor of alaska...

She just can't stay out of the headlines. A few days ago, it was her church getting torched by an arsonist. Then it was racist e-mails circulating amongst Alaskan government workers. Now, her daughter's sperm donor's mother is arrested on drug charges.

Haven't we had enough of this buffoon in the lower 48?

The above pic is of porn star Lisa Ann in NAILIN PAYLIN... Yes, I do know that's not the correct spelling of that tweety bird governor's last name in a state with only 600K residents.

jason gee...

This young man runs his own Farmer's Insurance agency on Clement in the Richmond.

Last night, Jason had his Holiday party @ Lava Lounge. This guy knows how to throw a party. He had a ice sculpture made with the Farmer's Insurance logo. Now, that's impressive...

His array of food consisted of peeled shrimp, oysters, sushi, mango salad, and prime rib. Sake was also served along with the sushi.

Jason's agency is located on 2308 Clement St, San Francisco, CA 94121.

And Lava Lounge is located @ 527 Bryant between 3rd and 4th in the City...

I forgot to mention the chocolate fondue...

standing up to what I believe in...

I quit posting on yelp for about a month after the site removed one of my reviews because the owner of Perbacco complained. This owner had the audacity to ask me to remove my review and I refused- therefore he went above my head and had it censored...

Let me also say that, I knew the owner personally. Basically in that hello, how are you type of mode.

I should have stuck to my guns and permanently quit the site, but I didn't. Now, I realize it's best for me to stop posting on that site.

I need to stand up for what I believe in... And I don't believe in censorship.

being american...

My Father's side has been in America since the 1880s. That's why I get offended when certain individuals use American to describe a white person.

Some of the #1 culprits of this is asian women- especially if they weren't born in the great US of A...

I'm Japanese-American born and raised in Seattle, WA. My Father is American, born and raised in Honolulu, HI. My Grandfather is American born and raised in Honolulu, HI.

The bottom line is being American doesn't mean you're white...

cheap tippers...

I've written more than a few times that our incompetent mayor doesn't tip. And I will say if this kid runs for governor, I will volunteer to work for his opponent...

I heard the now incarcerated O.J. Simpson doesn't tip, nor does he ever buy drinks. Everyone else buys him drinks.

Another story I heard is that a certain Golden State Warrior doesn't go out with many of his teammates because they are cheap.

Now I realize those ballers have had everything handed to them on a silver platter throughout their athletic life. They don't know how to tip...

I hate cheap fucks. It's worse when the person has millions...

best custard tarts...

Golden Gate Bakery on Grant near Jackson. They are fucking fabulous!!! They cost a buck ten a piece.

Again, they are fucking fabulous!!!

I want to thank Michael Chan aka Scooter of Mr. Bings for the recommendation!

the sentinel...

On my second visit to this overrated place, I tried their chicken salad sandwich. It was just okay. Of recent note,
I had an excellent chicken salad sandwich @ the Espresso Bar in Neiman Marcus HNL.

Sentinel's version uses too many exotic spices for my taste. To me, the cat behind Sentinel is trying to hard. He has his following, but I'm not one of the herd.

I'd rather go to Specialtys or take a hike to the Petite Deli in North Beach for a better sandwich...

new seller's market on market near scla/sf...

I tried it yesterday and I didn't like it. The meatloaf was too fucking sweet and it looked like a half sandwich. When I pay nearly ten bucks for a sandwich, I don't want it to look like a child's portion. The menu states that it's a quarterpounder. Bullshit!

It happens all the time, you get a salad on the side with vinaigrette and there's so much vinaigrette that it overpowers the greens. I forgot to order no dressing or dressing on the side...

Then, this joint has the music blasting and I can't even hear myself think. This was a day that I forgot my headphones for my iTouch...

I reviewed this place on yelp and some moron sends me a so-called "compliment" saying I'm an asshole. Well, I can be an asshole @ times, but never did I realize it's a compliment...

There are too many eating establishments in the downtown area to bother to frequent this chain...

warriors @ north beach restaurant...

After last nights loss to the Orlando Magic, two Golden State Warrior players ate dinner @ North Beach Restaurant on Stockton near Columbus.

I'll just say these two young men like to drink and they order doubles. They like their Grey Goose and Patron.

My only clue is both of these player's last name start with the same letter...

dissension in dallas...

All football fans know that T.O. is a head case, but he is one of the most talented receivers I have ever seen. In this situation with Cowboys, more balls should be thrown to Owens and newly acquired Roy Williams. Jason Witten should not be the focal point of the passing offense.

I've never liked Romo and it bothers me that so much attention was brought to him in the early stages of his career as a starting quarterback. There is no way in hell he should have made the Pro Bowl two seasons ago after starting only eight games.

Until, Tony who loves the media attention by dating blonde singers wins a big game in the playoffs, he shouldn't be anointed the promised one...

The two throws intended for Witten in the fourth quarter against Pittsburgh last week were just horrible decision making! One went for an interception that went for a touchdown and the other wasn't even close.

Unfortunately, last season a QB that I wrote off as can't winning the big one- Eli Manning went on win the Super Bowl.

I just can't see that happening with the overrated Tony Romo and the Cowboys...

bettie page...

She just past away after suffering a heart attack last week. Bettie was 85 years old. I must admit that I have enjoyed her photos throughout the years and Gretchen Mol did a great job of portraying Page in THE NOTORIOUS BETTIE PAGE (2005).

maverick...

James Garner was the original Maverick. The famous surfing area near Half Moon Bay is Mavericks. After this past Presidential election being called a "maverick" isn't a good thing. John McCain likened himself of being a maverick and his dimwit running mate also was a self proclaimed maverick. I sure the fuck don't want to be called a maverick...

peets in the sheraton waikiki...

What a pleasant surprise to see a Peets in Honolulu! I had too many cups of coffee earlier in the morning @ the Halekulani for brunch, therefore I didn't partake in my favorite medium americano, no room for cream...

This store is the first Peets in Hawaii.

no eggs 'n things...

It's going to reopen across the street from the Waikiki Post Office, but the famous breakfast and late night spot across from my sis' condo has been closed for over three months.

I miss walking across the street and having breakfast while visiting HNL.

sarkisian new husky head football coach...

I don't like it... It just appalls me that the young guys who apprenticed behind Norm Chow are getting head football coaching jobs and old Norm can't get a position higher than offensive coordinator?

I would have liked to see someone with a proven record as a head coach get my school's job.

I'm predicting that Sarkisian will not succeed...

rock-za...

This place used to be good, now it's horrible! I always go to Rock-Za when I visit Honolulu and now I really have to reconsider whether I go back my next trip...

Let's be honest- do the dancers in the above pic motivate you to go to Rock-Za? I don't think so...

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

hot and humid...

I can't really complain since I'm spending two weeks in Honolulu, but the heat and humidity is really getting to me.

Today, is unbearably humid...

Hopefully, I'll keep up with this blog on a more consistent basis.

And I need to work out on a more consistent basis.

It's all about consistency...

He will not succeed- I guarantee it! Mark my words...

happy thanksgiving...

After spending a quiet Thanksgiving by myself in 2007, I am very thankful to spend this Thanksgiving with my parents and relatives in Honolulu.

Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday because it's all about enjoying a turkey dinner with friends and family...

grilled lion...

To my surprise, I was informed that a certain restaurant located on Nob Hill served lion as an entree a few weeks ago. Wow! From my source, I heard the meat is a little sweet. Quite frankly, I don't have the balls to try lion.

I'm sure that ignoramus defeated vice presidential candidate would relish dining on lion and she probably wished she shot and killed the predator...

I'm a member. I joined during the summer when the Frida Kahlo exhibit first opened.

Anyway, I'm happy that SFMoMA like MoMA in Manhattan allows museum goers to take pictures of art without a flash...

p.j. carlesimo fired by the thunder...

Why does this idiot keep getting chances to be a head coach in the NBA? Granted, he was a decent coach @ Seton Hall, but his NBA foray into coaching hasn't been successful other than riding the coattail of Greg Popovich in San Antonio and getting a few rings as an assistant.

Carlisimo should get a clue and go back to the college ranks. A small college back east like Iona. Perhaps Iona is too good for P.J. the dumb fuck...

There has been justice in the coaching ranks this year with the petulant punk Lane Kiffin getting fired by the Al Davis, the incompetent Mike Nolan getting the ax by the Niners, the overrated Tyrone Willingham being forced to resign by my school UW, and now the screamer, infamous for the Latrell Sprewell choking incident P.J. Carlesimo.

I think it's the Obama affect, replacing the most incompetent president of my time and not allowing a "so called" maverick with a clueless VP candidate continue the farce in the White House. Getting rid of incompetents is only part of the equation. The jury is still out whether the above mentioned teams made good decisions with their current replacements or in the case of UDub hire a head coach that will bring us back into prominence...

I'm still pissed that my hometown Sonics moved to Oklahoma City...

harrington for crawford...

I do hope this trade comes through. Jamal Crawford is from my high school in Seattle- Rainier Beach. He'll fit well into Don Nelson's system. Al Harrington should thrive in Mike D'Antoni's offense. It's a good trade. As reported in the New York Daily News, Marco Bellinelli may be included in the trade. It would be a good change of scenery for Marco. But the way the trade looks, it will a straight up trade- Harrington for Crawford.

I'm going to criticize the incompetence of the Chron's Warrior beat writer Janny Hu. There is no mention in the Comicle about the trade as I write this post. She's horrible! She has no business being a sportswriter! At least Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury made mention of this proposed trade.

north beach restaurant...

I'm going to give props to Marilyn who works behind the bar for always recommending an excellent meal @ this joint.

Last night, the philandering mayor and his wife sat @ the bar next to me and a buddy. He consumed a fake beer and the wannabe actress had a glass of red wine. Like always, he didn't pay or tip anything What a cheap bastard!!!

don wakamatsu...

He was just named manager of the Seattle Mariners. It's about time. Don out of Hayward High will be the first Asian-American manager in baseball history.

Wakamatsu was a high school teammate of current Jacksonville coach Jack Del Rio. And Don was a teammate of Barry Bonds @ ASU.

Wakamatsu has a tough job with the hapless Mariners. I wish him the best.

periodontics...

The branch of dentistry concerned with structures surrounding and supporting the teeth. Dental implants are part of this specialty. My nephew is a DMD(Doctor of Dental Medicine) from Tufts University in Boston. Currently, he's attending Columbia University to obtain his post doctoral M.S. Degree and Certificate in Periodontics.

stanford's josh childress...

The former Atlanta Hawk is now playing for Olympiacos in the Euroleague which is pro basketball in Europe of course. Anyway, Childress is making 20 million on a 3 year contract with all taxes taken care of. Meaning he's taking home 20 mil.

He was interviewed on "Outside the Lines" on ESPN and Childress says he's treated like a movie star in Greece. I saw a clip of him having his feet kissed by an adoring Greek fan.

Childress also has free housing, transportation, and a personal chef.

The funny thing is that some of the gyms that Olympiacos plays in are smaller than many high school courts.

The owner of the team is a billionaire shipping magnate and said he doesn't mind losing money as long it turns into championships.

I guess the partial Stanford education that Childress received helped in his decision making. He wouldn't have made half of the money this season in the NBA and that doesn't include the paid taxes and other amenities...

I respect Josh Childress...

tim lincecum wins cy young...

Wow!! I didn't think it would happen, but it did and I'm ecstatic about his selection! Timmy deserved it and he's a UW guy like me, so it makes it even better.

I thought Brandon Webb had it in the bag. My question is when were the votes submitted. If it was right after the regular season, I don't think Lincecum would have won. If it was after the World Series- which gives the voters time to evaluate the season, than I can understand their reasoning...

mormons and prop 8...

I just realized if you take the middle "m" out of Mormon you get moron. From this day forward I'm going call members of the LDS church Morons...

Spending a ridiculous of amount of money to pass Prop 8 is reprehensible. Why deny couples of the same sex the right to be married? In this day and age and I'm not sure this figure is totally accurate- first time marriages in California have a 60% divorce rate. Apparently, California doesn't calculate divorce rates.

I say, let gay couples marry. It should be their choice to enter into a union that has a high failure rate.

I just read an article in the Comicle calling to boycott skiing in Utah and the Sundance Film Festival. I don't ski, although I'm gone to Sundance for 11 straight years and I was planning on attending for the 12th year in a row. Now, I have to think twice about setting foot in a red state that obviously voted for McCain and funneled tens of millions of dollars to back Prop 8.

The Morons are morons to potentially harm their tourist industry...

michelle obama's dress...

I was so fucking happy that Barack won the election, but his wife's dress last night was hideous...

To me, it didn't work on any level...

pubic hair...

What happened to pubic hair on women? Man, it's gotten to the point of being ridiculous... I don't want it to go back to the seventies when women had bushes up to their navel. I'd just like to see a nice triangle that is well kept. A small landing strip is okay. Just give me something...

In any event, @ my age, seeing any live pussy is a blessing...

censorship...

One of my reviews was censored on yelp. It was regarding Perbacco. The owner asked me to change my review and I refused. That is a real chicken shit move by the site and I have vowed never do another review on that site. Sooner or later, I'll quit the site. They are basically making money off my reviews and I'm not getting jack shit for them.

Let me be more specific. My review of Perbacco was removed by yelp...

C'est la vie...

new peets on 4th near harrison...

Right across from Whole Foods. The barista totally screwed up my macha green tea freddo. It wasn't even fair @ best...

Good spacious location. Peets is growing too much in my view. Please don't become like Starbucks...

I shouldn't have stayed with my usual medium americano...

Free wifi is always a plus. I bought a $25 Peets card and received a free medium drink.

denver nuggets practicing @ scla/sf...

I saw fat George Karl getting interviewed in the gym. And I saw a much heavier Mark Jackson and Mark Jones. I guess the media used the gym @ my club to conduct their business... Mark Jones works for ESPN/ABC. I believe ex-Knick and St. John's star work primarily for ESPN.

Go Warriors!

obama wins...

This is one of the greatest moments in my life. I have hope. I love America!

and thank you new mexico...

I've actually been to the airport in Albuquerque. Governor Bill Richardson was a big help...

thank you to the voters of ohio...

For choosing Barack Obama. Ohio was the key 20 electoral votes for Obama to win the election...

200 electoral votes thus far...

The road to 270 and California's 55 electoral votes have yet to be counted. Washington's 11, Oregon's 7, and Hawaii's 4 seem to be a lock. That's 277...

bob's steak & chop house @ the omni hotel...

In the City of course. The Texas based restaurant serves a mean drink. I ordered a black label on the rocks and the pour is phenomenal! It's 13 bucks a drink, but well worth it. It's a real fucking scotch on the rocks...

The spinach salad @ about 10 bones is good, but on the small side. I'd order it again...

fivethirtyeight.com...

I become a fan of this site that is tracking the election run by a baseball stat nerd. When you see the cat on TV, you'll know what I mean...

He projects Obama's win percentage @ 98.1%. The highest thus far this election.

His electoral projection is Obama 346.5 and McCain 191.5.

538 is the amount of electoral votes available in this country.

brenda's soul food...

Went there for the second time. This visit I tried the oyster po' boy sandwich with cole slaw. It was good, but too rich for my taste. I also went for the crawfish beignets. Those suckers are fantastic! And yes, they are too very rich...

The coffee @ Brenda's is fair @ best. It is strong, but most of time it's lukewarm. I like hot coffee...

The joint is on Polk near Eddy in the City.

a four year funk...

In reality, it has been eight years...

When Bush was reelected in 2004, I was devastated. I went into a depression that will not end until Barack Obama is voted in as President tomorrow.

I used to think that talking politics is taboo. Now, I think otherwise.

From this day forward, I will stand by my beliefs.

I believe in Barack Obama...

Sunday, November 2, 2008

obama leads cbs poll by 13 points...

Again, I won't be satisfied until I see Barack Obama win this thing. When I see double digit leads for Barack, it's a good thing. A lot better than being down...

undecided...

How in the fuck can someone be undecided about the most important presidential election in our lifetime?

Do these people read? Are they that stupid? I just don't get it?

My advice to all those so-called undecided out there- don't vote, we don't need you...

msnbc...

I don't know whether it's a good thing or not, but I have become an MSNBC junkie the past month or so.

I really like the trio of Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, and Rachel Maddow...

53-42...

Final USA Today/Gallup Poll. I know it's far from over, but Obama has a 11 point lead going into Tuesday's election.

I won't be happy until I see Barack Obama win on Election Day...

sorabel in sf centre...

Of all the places to nosh on in the basement of this shopping center, 90% of the time I go for the barbeque chicken @ Sorabel with steamed rice, noodles, broccoli, and kim chee.

I'm a big eater and I can barely finish the portion they give @ this place.

big win for cal...

Beating 23rd ranked Oregon sets up a big matchup @ the Coliseum for the Bears against the Trojans.

The miserable conditions @ Memorial Stadium reminded of those rainy days @ Husky Stadium in Seattle.

My advice to Tedford- start senior Nate Longshore next week...

the cafe @ scla/sf...

I wanted to have some breakfast and they don't even poach eggs. I find that extremely weak! To me, it's unacceptable!

ipod chargers on new treadmills @ scla/sf...

Fantastic! My iTouch has a tendency to drain its battery extremely fast. This is extremely crucial since I'm @ the club all of the time. The problem with the treadmill I used is the audio when connecting to my iTouch was barely audible...

Now, I wish every cardio device had a monitor. When I first jointed this club, every stationary bike had a television. Now, there are several without a screen. Let's face it, it's easier to do cardio when you have something to look @...

jeff kent is really a fucking asshole...

I saw a headline in the Chron about Steve Young and prop 8 and I assumed he was voting to ban gay marriages. I was surprised to read that his wife is against 8. Young hasn't publicly said whether he's for or against the measure. His Mormon church has spent millions upon millions to pass the proposition.

Par for the course, I find out in the article that Jeff Kent the true prick that he is donated $15K to ban gay marriages.

Young's wife has donated $50K to defeat prop 8. I'm still not a fan of Steve Young, but I respect his wife Barbara...

do voters know they can vote via an absentee ballot...

I can't believe the lines for early voting? I voted about a month ago, as soon as I got my absentee ballot. I don't get it?

In the most important vote of my lifetime, it's ridiculous that voters have to wait eight hours to vote...

Something needs to be done!

cafe @ scla/sf...

I just had their tortilla soup. I don't think it's as good as it used to be. Now, it taste more like a tomato bisque. I was also a bit disappointed that the cafe was out of their signature poppy seed rolls.

I only ate @ this joint because my favorite Ayola on Kearny closes @ 4pm.

After my workout, I ate some brown rice with mushroom, peas, and corn. It's okay, but I agree with a fellow member, that it's missing something. Probably meat...

izzy's steak and chops...

I used to live a few doors down from this establishment. And I have always loved the joint. I'm waiting for the marinated skirt steak with izzy's potatoes and creamed spinach. $21.95. I've been drinking scotch this evening and my scotch of choice is 12 year old Balvenie Doublewood neat...

The young lady bartender is accommodating. Her name is Gina. The white male bartender is extremely weak. Fuck him! I won't even try to get his name...

Free wifi is a big plus...

I love the st. regis bar...

I fucking can't afford going there, nonetheless, I love the fucking place! The bartenders who I really like are Rafael and Darius. They are stellar barkeeps.

tu lan...

On 6th off of Market. Not the best area in the City...

I usually have the shrimp fried rice less white onions and a vietnamese ice coffee. Today, I opted to take out my order. I'm not really a fan of eating in the joint. Let's just say, the place is cramped and it isn't the cleanest restaurant around. I probably don't want to know the health code rating...

Anyway, the fried rice has a curry flavor and is pretty tasty, but it's so fucking greasy. I'm actually trying to cut the grease by partaking in some fresh grapefruit juice.

I really don't know when I'll be back? Maybe never...

The reason I was in the area- I was thinking about volunteering @ the phone bank for Barack Obama a half block away. After walking by the storefront, I decided against it. Plus, I didn't have my cellphone with me.

When I was in Vegas las week, I really should have helped with the campaign. However, I believe Obama should take Nevada...

filibuster...

An action such as a prolonged speech that obstructs progress in a legislative assembly while not technically contravening the required procedure. If Democrats gain a 60-40 advantage in next Tuesday's landmark election, the Senate will be FILIBUSTER proof. Act in an obstructive manner in a legislature, especially by speaking @ inordinate length. Several measures were killed by Republican FILIBUSTERING. Stonewalling, delaying tactics, procrastination, OBSTRUCTION, temporizing.

Waste time, stall, play for time, sandbag, buy time.

cafe prima fila on bush and taylor...

They have free wifi and their breakfast bagel which is served all day is very good. It's a good snack, not a full on meal. I usually have the sandwich with ham, but today I went for the bacon. The egg is tasty and the key is the peppered bagel which is "ono."

ONO is tasty in Hawaiian...

And I'm still fucking hungry after noshing on the bagel...

a cable car conductor without a clue...

I like most of the operators on the California line. This particular old white fuck really pissed me off this evening. BTW, he kind of looks like S. Claus...

I entered the cable car on California and Sansome. As I walked into the car I showed the conductor my MUNI pass.

Two or three stops later, the idiot knocks on the window next to where I was sitting and rudely asks me for my pass. He could have been more appropriate by opening the door of the cable car walking inside the car and asking me for my fare, but he disrespected me by banging on the glass demanding my pass.

I fucking showed him my pass as I walked onto the cable car. What a moron!

Anyway, @ least six people get onto the cable car after this incident and the dumb shit doesn't ask them for a fare.

When I exited the cable car on California and Pine, I had to give the dumb fuck my two cents. I said I was going to write a complaint about him...

Fuck it! It's a waste of time...

mike singletary...

Although the Niners got creamed by a terrible Seahawks team, I was generally happy in the way Singletary coached the team. I will say that he should have opted for a field goal before the first half instead of going for it on 4th down which resulted in an interception for a touchdown for Seattle.

I like how he benched J.T. O'Sullivan. The guy is a turnover waiting to happen. J.T. has shown flashes of brilliance, but he's basically an average backup quarterback. Shaun HIll played well in the second half, but he too isn't a legitimate starter.

Sending Vernon Davis to the showers was long overdue. The guy is talented, but an extreme head case. Davis showed tremendous speed and heart catching Josh Wilson on that interception return. Yes, he's a specimen, but he needs to harness his emotions to come into his own as a tight end.

Singletary accepted responsibility for the loss, something that the previous Mike(Nolan) never did.

The Niners may not win another game this season, but they do have a true leader in Mike Singletary.

Hopefully, if Singletary is around next season, they'll have better players...

hooters casino...

It not one of the nicest casinos in Vegas, but this establishment has an excellent deal @ Dan Marino's restaurant from 12am to 6am- 25 cent wings. Me and my Father shared an order of 20 for $5. I must say the wings are very, very tasty.

Their house salad was big enough to share, in which me and my Father shared.

The joint can get very busy and you may have to wait. But, it's worth it...

raffles cafe...

On Thursday night after winning $500 on a high hand in the poker room @ Mandalay Bay, me and my Father dined @ Raffles Cafe. BTW, the high hand was a Queen high diamond straight flush.

I had the corn beef hash and it was fantastic! One of the best, I've ever had!

My Dad had an order of fried calamari. The portion was huge, but I have to say, it was just okay. Living in the Bay Area, you have access to fresh calamari.

rock spa @ the hard rock hotel in vegas...

It cost $20. The have a legitimate bench press. I love it! Most hotel gyms don't have decent free weights- especially barbells.

They also have a hammer strength incline bench- another of my favorites.

poker room @ the venetian...

I stayed @ the Venetian on Sunday night. It was my second time staying there. I barely spent anytime in my room. I played poker for eleven hours during my stay. You get a dollar an hour credit, therefore I got $11 comped, in which I used @ the Grand Luxe Cafe(supposed a classier off shoot of The Cheescake Factory). I had their buffalo chicken sandwich. It was fair @ best... My meal credit covered my sandwich.

I like the poker room @ the Venetian, but I never seem to win @ that joint. Then again, I'm a shitty poker player...

monday night football @ sapphire...

For $20 you get three beers(heineken, heineken light, and amstel light), food(hot dogs, chicken wings, pasta, pizza, etc...), drawings(I won two $20 lapdances and a Heineken umbrella), and $1 lapdances during halftime... Such a deal!

Beware of beautiful women coercing you into the VIP room. It can be a ton of fun, but it will cost you...

raffles cafe @ mandalay bay...

I'm very dismayed that they no longer serve fried chicken. It was phenomenal! The young lady @ the front desk concurred. She said, "it was her favorite."

coffee bean & tea leaf on maryland across from unlv...

I'm staying @ the Hard Rock and they charge $14 a day for wifi. That's ridiculous! Luckily, I have a car and this location is a short drive from the hotel. This location is spacious and has free wifi. I love it!

Since the last time I frequent this joint, they have expanded.

ny's favorite beer list...

The one and only Newcastle Brown Ale. To me, it's very smooth.

Unbelievably, the first time I tried the stuff is in the summer when my niece's friend Corey/Korey or however you spell her name brought over a 12 pack to my sis' place.

I've seen it around for years. Now, it's one of my favorite brews.

vetted...

I can't believe I haven't written a post for a week... What the fuck?

Anyway, back to VETTED. Investigate (someone) thoroughly, especially in order to ensure that they are suitable for a job requiring secrecy, loyalty, or trustworthiness.

Obviously, Sarah Palin wasn't carefully VETTED by John McCain when he chose her as his running mate.

The above is a screen capture of the ever beautiful Gina Gershon as Sarah Palin in a hilarious video on funnyordie.com

warren sapp...

He's a fucking head case! I'm actually glad I don't have SHOWTIME. Meaning, after HBO dropped INSIDE THE NFL after last season and in the eleventh hour SHOWTIME picked it up with that obnoxious Warren Sapp- therefore, I won't pick up SHOWTIME. And INSIDE THE NFL was one of my favorite shows on television...

I can't even watch DANCING WITH THE STARS this season because of Sapp. And I have really enjoyed DANCING WITH THE STARS the past few seasons.

Now, I see why that guy dropped to the 12th pick of the first round in 1995 when he was projected to be a top five pick.

men who wear too much fucking cologne...

I think it's worse than old ladies who wear stinky perfume. My eyes are still watering after this guy sitting next to me on the cable car was wearing what seemed like an ounce of smelly cologne...

religulous...

Bill Maher's doc on religion. I saw it @ my favorite Embarcadero Cinema. Theater 1 to be exact and I sit in the handicapped seats in the back of the theater. Tonight it was the single chair to the left.

I'm not going to do this again, but I had a large popcorn and a large coke. I'll probably be up all night after consuming about a gallon of caffeinated soda.

Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed the doc.

I'm not a religious person. I basically quit the Buddhist Church in Seattle when I was about ten or eleven years old. My reason was pretty stupid- my older sister embarrassed me in front of my Sunday School class and I never went back...

benny on espn's nfl countdown...

That's his name in the great 2008 Tony Award Winning Musical IN THE HEIGHTS. His real name is Christopher Jackson.

Jackson was in a comedy skit as a scout timing Usain Bolt in the 40.

I'm probably one of the few people who actually recognized Jackson in the skit.

quarterback situation @ cal...

I'm writing this post while watching the ASU-CAL game and the Sun Devils are coming back in the 4th quarter. Hopefully, CAL holds on to win and I don't have to change my mind...

I was surprised to see Nate Longshore pass Aaron Rodgers on CAL's all-time touchdown passing total. If Longshore continues to start and play, he has a chance to be 2nd all-time in touchdown passes. He's currently 5th with 46. Longshore needs 9 to pass Pat Barnes who is #2. Kyle Boller is #1 with 64.

I believe Longshore should start for the rest of the season. CAL still has a chance to have a special season and the senior leadership of Longshore will contribute to this effort.

He still throws too many interceptions, but Longshore's problems last season could be attributed to his injury.

Kevin Riley is only a sophomore. He still has a bright future.

Also, I was impressed that Longshore set a CAL quarterback all-time bench press record @ 370...

the vice presidential debate...

It really puzzles me how a person who seemingly isn't that well informed or let me be blunt- not that bright can be the Governor of Alaska? Let me take that back- Bush was the governor of Texas and he comes across basically the same way as Palin.

Well, she did better in the debate than in Katie Couric's interviews, but as many pundits have wrote, "the barometer was low."

She really didn't answer any of the questions posed during the debate. Much of it had to do with the format of the debate and the moderator Gwen Ifill didn't do much of anything. Basically, she was nonexistent.

I thought Biden was very well spoken and really showed his command of the issues. His taking down of McCain of not being a maverick in issues that matter most to the American public was quite entertaining.

Biden could have taken down Palin a notch or two, but he kept his assault plans veered toward McCain- which was a good strategy. However, Palin was vulnerable for a takedown.

McCain choosing Palin as a running mate may go down in history as the biggest joke of alltime...

more on that punk kiffin...

To me, Al Davis' press conferences was one of the most entertaining shows I've ever seen on television. Sure, Al looked pretty horrible, especially those puffed up red eyes, but the guy was sharp as a tack.

Obviously, it was Kiffin feeding the media. It seems like Chris Mortensen of ESPN was the main source for the petulant kid's rants.

How could Lance(that's what Davis called him in the press conference on his hiring as head coach of the Raiders) deny speaking with Davis when it is documented that they spoke? The day before his well deserved firing, the young idiot finally said he wouldn't discuss with the media conservations he's had with Big Al. I'm sure it finally dawned on him that his flat out lying about his talks with Davis will come out and bite him in the ass.

As I wrote many times in my blog, that Kid Kiffin didn't deserve to hired as a head coach. It is in my opinion, the worst head coaching hire in NFL history. Shula's son was horrible, he didn't have that cocky attitude that Kiffin has.

I don't really give a shit where that kid ends up as long it isn't @ my school the University of Washington. That would really piss me off!!!!

And to change the subject a bit, I believe that punk was instrumental in Norm Chow leaving USC. I know he was pissed off that the Bruins were considering hiring Chow as the head coach before hiring Neuheisel. And yes, I know Chow is the offensive coordinator for struggling 1-3 UCLA. If they don't beat Wazzu this week, there will be a lot of unhappy people in Westwood calling for Neuheisel, Chow, and Walkers heads...

Fuck Lane Kiffin!!!!

uw football head coaching job...

It's a given that Willingham will be fired, it's just when. With QB Jake Locker out for virtually the rest of the season, the Huskies may not win one game this season.

My biggest fear is that UDub would hire that idiot Lane Kiffin as head coach. If that happens, I may cease to exist in this world...

mike nolan will be gone @ the end of the season...

Nolan deserved a chance to be a head coach, unlike that punk Kiffin. Mike Nolan paid his dues. He's just proven to be a shitty head coach, that's all there is to it.

The Niners are probably the worse 2-2 team team in the NFL. My prediction is that they will be 2-6 going into their bye week.
Then the Fire Nolan campaign will commence once more...

yes, it's finally done...

Al Davis finally got off his high horse and fired that petulant punk Lane Kiffin. It's about fucking time!

5-15 in a season and a quarter is simply horrible!

He never deserved the job in the first place and he was way over his head.

I have been waiting for the news all night...

fire that punk kid kiffin already...

He proven to be a horrible coach. The last two games blowing two score leads in the 4th quarter should lead to his demise- finally! I don't understand how people can be sorry for the kid. He accepted the Raiders job in which he was clearly unqualified for. Hell, he was almost run out of USC for losing to UCLA his last year as a co-offensive coordinator with Steve Sarkisian.

To me, he is one of the worst hires in NFL history. I compare it with David Shula, the great Don Shula's son who was just terrible as the head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Pictured to the left is David Shula who actually resembled that fucking moron Kiffin when he was in his thirties...

paul newman...

I was shocked to read that he passed away on friday. Newman was in two of my favorite movies in my younger years, BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID and THE STING.

From his Newman brand products he has donated nearly 250 million dollars to charity.

Mr. Newman retired from acting in 2007. His last acting role on screen was in HBO's EMPIRE FALLS.

ichiro...

I look @ his box score everyday and my concern now is whether he'll reach 100 runs for the season. As I write this entry, he's one run short with three games left in the season. Ichiro has had 200 hits in 8 consecutive seasons. On more run and he'll have 100 for eight seasons and he's hit over .300 in all of those seasons.

Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times has alluded to Ichiro not being well liked by more than of few of his teammates. One of the supposed reasons is that he's a selfish player only concerned about his stats rather than winning- which the Mariners haven't been successful @ for more than a few seasons.

Baker in the past few days has targeted Japanese players. Yesterday, it was catcher Kenji Johjima. I'm starting to feel that this Baker is a racist.

Apparently, one or more of Ichiro's teammates wanted to cause physical harm to him.

Personally, I feel Ichiro should hit for more power and bat in the third spot. It is a known fact that Suzuki can hit the long ball with nearly anyone during batting practice.

I may have used the above pic in a previous post- but what the hell, the catch was phenomenal!

matt millen finally fired...

It's about time. What was his record? I know the Lions were over 50 games under .500 during Millen's tenure.

Why did it take so long. I give credit to the younger Ford for speaking out against the incompetent Millen after Detroit's waxing by the Niners, who are probably the worst 2-1 team in the NFL.

For the record, the Lions were 31-84 while that idiot Millen was in control.

riding the cable car...

I ride California line home nearly every evening. It just appalls me with the attitude of certain riders. Those cats who work the cable cars put up with a bunch of bullshit.

Tonight, I observed some idiot who's probably in town for Oracle World who kept complaining about the $5 fee for a ride. I almost told the moron to ride the bus for a buck fiddy...

I'm an old dude, so I really do remember when the cable car was a quarter, but it's been $5 for three years.

Didn't the motherfucker read a tourist rag to see what's going on in the City...

I believe I used the above photo in a prior post, but what the fuck, I really like it...

kara's cupcakes...

I'm a big fan of carrot cake and now I believe I've had the best carrot cake/cupcake in my life from Kara's Cupcakes. The first time I tried the joint, I had a magnificent coconut chocolate cupcake. Simply a wonderful place...

ferry plaza farmers market...

On saturday, when I make it to the market, my first stop is to buy a pint of apple juice. It's gone up a buck in the past few months and I don't feel the quality is worth the extra price. This particular stand is also open on tuesday. In the future, I'm going to opt for the organic pomegranate juice @ another stand.

I really enjoy the scrambled eggs on an Acme baquette with Hobbs bacon and since they are still in season, heirloom tomato slices from Hayes Street Grill. It's so simple, yet so fantastic!

Another stop I always make is the Downtown Healdsburg Bakery- their morning buns are astounding! But they do run out fast.

Today, I didn't make my usual wheat grass stop.

sarah palin...

I look @ pictures of her and I see a decent looking chick, but that hairdo is very scary! This is such a copycat world that I've seen two women in the City who have that look and I felt I was in the Twilight Zone...

I listen to what comes out of her mouth and it sounds like a bunch of bullshit. To me, she's the type of person, you can't believe a word she's saying.

How does she get a pass on having a 17 year old unmarried daughter who is pregnant? It just boggles my mind...

I won't get into the issues, but in the past few weeks, she is being exposed as fraud. I can't wait for the debates...

I must add that this 44 year woman just obtained her first passport in her life in 2007. That's unbelievable? And this person is running for vice president?

ferry plaza wine merchant...

They has great prices on beer by the bottle @ the bar! I usually have an Anderson Valley Brewing Company Boont Amber Ale for $3. You can't go wrong with that price!

For awhile there, they were selling Duval for $3.25 or $3.50. It's up to $4.50 which is a great price!
