tim alderson...

I mentioned him in a post a day or so ago and on Wednesday he gets traded to the Pirates for second baseman Freddy Sanchez.

It's a good move for the Giants, much better than the trade for Gerry Cooney lookalike Garko...

I wish Tim Alderson well...

cameron diaz interviewed by bill maher...

Great interview!

Over ten years ago, I saw Cameron on Grant on either Sutter or Bush and we caught eye contact and she actually smiled @ me. Granted I was much younger and better looking back then.

Now, I understand why there could have been a small connection between us. She lived in Japan as a model when she was a teenager. Cameron Diaz in the interview said she had a fabulous time in Tokyo.

ryan garko...

This doesn't smell like a good trade. For Scott Barnes, the class A left handed pitcher who had a 12-3 with San Jose was under the radar with top flight pitching prospects like Madison Bumgarner and Tim Alderson in the minor league system.

I don't think Garko is an improvement over Travis Ishikawa. His stats this season are not much better than Ishikawa's. I'm positive his glove isn't better than Travis'...

I'm extremely unhappy with this trade...

And Garko looks like former heavyweight boxer the great white dope- Gerry Cooney...

open house @ rosenblum cellars...

I wait every three months to attend an open house party. I'm a member of the wine club, therefore I can buy a ticket online in advance for $25, as opposed to buying one @ the door for $30. Non-members pay $35 online or $45 @ the door.

I love Rosenblum wine, but I go to the party expressly for the meatballs catered by Angela's in Alameda and the zinfandel ice cream made by Tucker's also in Alameda. Enjoying those two items is worth the ferry ride from the City and paying the price of admission...

moon starring sam rockwell...

Directed by David Bowie's son-Duncan Jones in his first feature film which debuted @ Sundance in January. Either my memory is shot, but I was not aware of this movie when I attended my 12th Sundance in a row early this year...

The film was made on a budget of $5M, very, very impressive... And this is a sci-fi movie.

I must admit I haven't been a Sam Rockwell fan in the past, but he's excellent in the lead role. Rockwell went to McAteer in the City.

The film is rated- R. Don't understand the R rating, apparently it's for language. In a dream sequence, I would have had the female in the scene naked. That justifies a R rating in my view and that scene could make this low budget indie film profitable.

The horrible film starring Hayden Panetierre "I Love You, Beth Cooper" was hyped by the rumors of a topless scene by the pretty young actress. A nondescript side boob shot was all it was. I got sucked into the promo and was very disappointed that I wasted money on the flick...

The bottom line is sex sells...

diana terranova...

She's a friend of mine and recently a new facebook friend...

Diana is a hard working actress in LA. I'm extremely impressed with her work ethic. Look her up on imdb.com

I met her @ Macworld in January over six months ago. Too long to go without seeing Diana Terranova again in person...

I had to post this pic of her. It's simply phenomenal!!

new itouch and nano will have cameras...

Since I have a first generation iTouch without a speaker, this will render my model nearly obsolete.

The only reason to get a Nano is for the compact size.

another erin andrews post...

Apparently her video was on the web for several months before it was discovered. ESPN and poor Erin could have denied that it was her on the video. And this thing would probably have gone away. The video is so blurry that one can't conclusively say it is in fact Erin Andrews.

The NY Post published some stills of Erin's video with a black bar covering her private parts. ESPN counters by banning any NY Post reporters from appearing on their network.

To me, ESPN is overreacting.

The bottom line is ESPN lawyers started this media frenzy by demanding "the pictures of a young, blonde woman" be removed from a website.

I'm writing this one more time, this only enhances Erin Andrew's career. Will she be on the next season of "Dancing With The Stars?"

erin andrews revisited...

I'm just wondering how many women out there walk around their hotel room buck naked using a curling iron while doing knee bends and staring intently @ the mirror?

Plus, after they're finished curling their hair, they proceed to iron in the buff...

If many do, I think that's fucking cool. But my guess is, most women probably wear @ least a towel or wear panties and a t-shirt...

Erin more than likely had her privacy invaded by a sick perverted peeping tom, but in the back of my mind it wouldn't surprise me if it was a publicity stunt.

As I mentioned in a previous post, the naked peep hole video will only enhance her career.

rn74 "croque madame"...

A fabulous dish on the wine bar menu @ RN74...

Recommended to me by Jose Zepeda, who I believe is the bar manager @ the joint...

Toasted brioche, bacon marmalade, spinach, fried egg, bechamel sauce. 10.

Simply a phenomenal appetizer, pupu, or whatever you call something to nosh on while having a beer or a glass of wine @ RN74...

Mahalo Jose!

vanessa williams...

Saw her @ the St. Regis in the City on Tuesday evening. She's extremely attractive in person. I was surprised, because she's 46 years old...

Vanessa was in town for Dress for Success, an organization that helps disadvantaged women succeed in the workplace. BOTOX. Allergan is behind this charitable project.

I heard they were giving out free injections of botox @ this fund raiser...

victoria prince...

I'm a women's volleyball fan and I remember Victoria playing for the University of Hawaii. I actually saw her play in person @ Stan Sheriff Center where the Rainbow Wahines draw more than any women's volleyball team in the country. They have sold out the 10K capacity more than a few times...

I just read her boyfriend is Kevin Federline and they're pitching a reality show.

I'm speechless...

erin andrews grainy video...

I did have an opportunity to view the video and the quality is pretty poor...

Although, I'm like most of the straight male sports loving populace and was intrigued by this video- I must admit it bothers me that some fucking pervert resorted to filming Erin Andrews in the so-called privacy of her hotel nude without her knowledge.

Apparently, nearly all the links to the video have been taken down and hackers have resorted to setting dummy links to spread viruses.

Erin is basically standing up naked for the majority of the video using a curling iron on her hair and doing semi-squats in front of the mirror @ the desk in her hotel room.

If the name of this hotel ever comes to light- the company will have some explaining to do...

I will not post the link to the video and there's a good chance it will be removed.

I feel for Erin Andrews, but in reality this will only enhance her career...

coca cola from mexico...

I should quit drinking soft drinks all together, but I have been avoiding soft drinks that are sweetened with high-fructose corn syrup. Coca Cola, Pepsi, Seven Up, etc...

The Coke from Mexico is more expensive, but it taste so much better than the stuff made in the states. It tastes like my childhood...

It's made with pure cane sugar...

I won't even post a photo of one of those hideous shirts...

The guy has sold out so much that his shit is sold @ Costco...

I ordered the seared ahi tuna sashimi and chicken pot pie- both 3.95.

people remembering my name...

First of all, I have a big ego, but in reality, I can understand why people don't remember my name...

There's a young cocktail server @ RN74 who I met about a month ago. She remembered my name when I frequented the joint on Wednesday night. That was the second time I met her... I was shocked!

This beauty from Venezuela meets hundreds of people a month and she has the mind to remember my name. That's impressive! Unfuckingreal...

Anyway, I hate to admit it, but I forgot her name, but I know I had it written down somewhere in my iPhone notes. Her name is Laura- pronounced Lau-ra...

Go to RN74 and mention that NY sent you in...

mental note...

Hunan Home's lunch menu is good until 2:30am...

Man, Today I'm going to miss out on their Hunan Chicken and marvelous hot & sour soup...

remembering names...

I always forget Bruce's name who's a bartender @ Mr. Bing's.

How do I remember a name like Bruce? Come on! One of my idols when I was growing up was Bruce Lee.

An over the hill Niner WR named Isaac Bruce.

A great reliever in the past- Bruce Sutter.

Batman's alter ego Bruce Wayne.

Bruce Springsteen.

I'm not a fan of him, but Bruce Willis.

The best way to remember Bruce's name is by remembering the iconic Bruce Lee and Bruce is of Chinese descent...

willie brown...

He's out of his fucking mind by calling Quittin' Palin a political genius!!

Yes, the idiot will make millions of dollars with a book deal and speaking engagements. I didn't say writing a book, because a ghost writer will pen her book, because there is no way in hell Palin could write a readable book- she's a fucking moron!

It just astounds me how as soon as Obama got elected, pundits were talking about the 2012 election before he was even sworn in as President- never in my life have I heard this?

More than likely Willie needs to lay off the sauce when penning his bullshit column for the Comicle...

Palin has no chance in hell to be elected President of the United States...

pablo sandoval in last years futures game...

Just think, in one season he has become a star in the majors. It cracks me up that he was listed @ 5'11 and 180 pounds in the game- off by a few less inches in height and about 60-70 pounds in weight.

I'm watching a replay of the game on ESPN2.

Some of the players who are currently in the majors who played in this game are outfielder Nate Schierholtz of the Giants, pitchers Trevor Cahill and Brett Anderson of the A's, outfielder Dexter Fowler of Colorado, outfielder Andrew McCutchen of Pittsburgh, and shortstop Elvis Andrus of Texas.

There are more of the these kids in the majors, but I don't want to take the time to research every player.

The point is, a futures game is a great game to watch during the All Star break and it's easy to get a ticket.

richard avedon exhibit...

@ SFMoMA. Phenomenal photography exhibit!

heaven's dog...

The Slanted Door cat has a lot of balls to open a joint on Mission near 7th...

The location alone will kill the place.

Now, NY is going to try the place...

The spot is open until 1am.

I tried two of their appetizers- braised pork belly in a clam shell bun 9. Three pieces. Tasty. Shanghai dumplings, pork. rice vinegar, ginger 8. About 5-6 pieces. Good value. Could have had better sauces on the side. And I believe they have an assortment of sauces available...

Nice bathroom. It was clean, which is a good thing...

I had a cola made with pure cane sugar out of Bristol, Rhode Island. Empire Real Cola 4. Since 1930. I have to say it was just fair- I definitely prefer the real thing made with cane sugar in Mexico...

My desert was light and tasty. I should have written down what it was... Didn't like the green tea leafs sprinkled over the dish- the tea leafs are just too overpowering...

Excellent service.

Saw a girlfriend of a young man who works @ the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant @ the bar where I dined @. I've met her before, but she probably didn't register the meeting. Then again, NY is a known entity in the City...

da best classic chicken salad...

I've said this before, but go to The Rotunda in Neiman Marcus in the City and have their classic chicken salad.

The chicken salad is served with strawberries, honey dew, cantaloupe, pineapple, avocado, and grapes in a bed of lettuce.

And the bar scene @ this joint can be interesting...

pablo sandoval...

I had the pleasure to watch Sandoval play for the San Jose Giants and I knew this kid was something special.

Now, he's on the cusp of making the All Star team, in which he deserves to be on.

Please vote for "Kung Fu Panda."

Unfortunately, Panda lost to that Hawaiian kid who plays for the Phillies...

crocker art museum...

Located in Sacramento. I wanted to check this museum out for years and I wasn't disappointed when I visited this past weekend.

red hawk casino...

Although I lost, which isn't anything unusual, I really enjoyed Red Hawk Casino...

It's located off of Highway 50, virtually minutes from Rancho Cordova where I was staying this past weekend.

The buffet is very good.

fucking ridiculous...

I was waiting for my order from IN-N-OUT in Fisherman's Wharf and I walked into Hooter's to check out their menu-which is located right next door. I walked past the front area and was asked if I needed help. I said no.

Then one of the dingbat employees tells me I can't walk past a certain area-mumbling something incoherent. I was taken aback by her rude nature.

The wings are pretty good @ Hooters- but there is no way in hell I'm going to frequent any of their stores across the nation. The only exception will be the Hooters Casino in Vegas where I'll partake in the wings @ Dan Marino's from midnight to 6am. They have 25 cent wings from that time period and the joint gets fucking packed!

I've always found it ridiculous that the women wear hose under their orange shorts...

And just think, I've even been to the original Hooters in Clearwater...

wild salmon sandwich @ nation's...

It's not bad, but next time I try it- gotta hold the mayo...

The sandwich I had was inundated with the white stuff...

nation's in el cerrito...

Waiting for a wild salmon sandwich. $4.95. I believe it's a patty.

Coffee is reasonable with free refills for $1.15. And the java is drinkable.

Breakfast is served all day @ this location.

unfuckingbelievable...

Palin steps down as governor of Alaska...

Thursday, July 2, 2009

golden gate bakery...

On Grant between Jackson and Pacific.

The best daan tot! Egg custard tarts.

Fantastic coconut macaroons!

Excellent baked char siu bows!

anchor & hope...

Located on Minna just off of 2nd.

Great beer selection! My favorite thus far is the La Chouffe on tap- smooth and creamy. Pricey @ 10 bones.

I only tried the new england clam chowder. $10. Good, but the chowder @ Swan's is way better...

on second try...

The hot & sour soup @ R&G Lounge is excellent. Good when one is slightly under the weather...

I've written this before, but the lemon chicken @ this joint is wonderful.

dan choi...

The kid speaks arabic and he's fought for our country. So what if he's gay. I'm straight and I consider myself macho @ my advanced age, but never would I risk my life for this country especially in a war that makes no sense to me.

I applaud National Guard Lt. Dan Choi for protecting our country and standing up to this don't ask, don't tell bullshit.

A military review panel recommended on Tuesday that Choi be discharged. This is two days after he was the grand marshal of the pride parade in the City.

I'm an Obama supporter, but he needs to step up to the plate regarding this matter...

BTW, pictured with Choi is Cloris Leachman.

new late night restaurants in the city...

The new Michael Minna spot RN74 on Mission in the Millennium Tower is open until 1am. Been there once, good wine selection, two great members of their staff is Marco(a captain @ RN74) who was simply an incredible bartender @ Aqua and Jose(Beverage Manager @ RN74) who I knew from Postrio and who has worked in the Minna system for years, he was in Vegas for several years. I also knew Jose from Harry Denton's and Cascadia in San Jose, a Michael Minna spot.

The other spot which Michael Bauer highlighted in his blog is Charles Phan's Heaven's Dog. It's located on 7th, therefore I haven't made a run to the joint. Also open until 1am.

attraction...

It's funny, when I first saw this person on Tuesday evening I really didn't think that much of her. Sure, she has a fabulous body, but I just wasn't attracted to her. Plus, before I met her, I was informed that she's a lesbian.

Then I got to know her and then she started to grow on me and now I can't stop thinking about her. I have her phone number. Can I turn her over to my team? Probably not...

Yet, I can still dream about her...

I must add this little tidbit about my encounter with this lovely lady. Let me preface that I didn't ask her this question. She was probably reading my mind. C, (I'll use the initial of her first name) suddenly looks @ me and says, "Yes, they're real." I said, "No way." C said, "I'll let you touch them, no I won't let you touch them." I said, "It's okay, you wouldn't like me touching them anyway."

And C is actually a D...

a new month...

I'm going to start off the second half of 2009 by stating I'm fucking sick and tired of reading and hearing about Sarah Palin. The recent Vanity Fair article was somewhat interesting, but it really didn't bring up anything new regarding the head case from Wasilla...

You really have to fault John McCain for making this person relevant.

I just want her to go away and I'm going to make a promise to myself not to read anything about this very divisive person...

This is my last post regarding this idiot...
