andrea lowell...

She's on Playboy Radio Sirius/XM. I have yet to tune in, but I must make a concerted effort to listen in the immediate future...

Yes, she's also a Playboy model. A foodie. Seemingly a comedienne too.

Andrea just got married. Congrats to her! She's from Long Beach, CA.

And I'm lucky to have her as a facebook friend, although I have yet to meet her face to face...

I guess I'm writing a post about her because she cracked me up with her humor when I logged on to facebook earlier in the morning reading her posts. There's nothing better than waking up to laughter... Actually, I can think of one better thing...

Cheers to Andrea Lowell, a beauty with a tremendous personality!

If you want too see a pic of the lovely Andrea google her or subscribe to the Playboy Cyber Club...

lou's cafe on geary near 14th ave...

This afternoon I tried an Ultimate Club- roast beef, turkey, salami, ham, bacon, swiss cheese, Lou's Special Sauce, dijon mustard, on a soft & sweet roll. I got it toasted as recommended by the beautiful Lisa DiStefano and of course, less the red onions...

Lou's sandwiches includes: lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and jalapeno spread. And the above mentioned Lou's Special Sauce and red onions...

Other add on's/substitutes are pepperoncinis, cucumbers, pesto aioli, dijon mustard, mayonnaise, cranberry spread. Avocado is 50 cents extra and bacon is a buck extra.

Lou's serves illy coffee, in which I like and they have free wifi, but you must ask for the password.

My Ultimate Club was a bit messy, therefore get those extra napkins without wasting too much paper. Or better yet, bring you own handkerchief...

Oh, I forgot to write that the sandwich was near orgasmic- it was that good...

zac efron flashdancers...

I like the kid. I must admit I never saw any of the HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL series, but I enjoyed 17 AGAIN.

Efron has a new movie opening today called CHARLIE ST. CLOUD.

Let's get back to the gentlemen's club Flashdancers on Broadway and 53rd in New York City. I've been there and it's a dive. Matter of fact, my niece lives two blocks away. Three or four years ago, I won some money playing poker @ one of those illegal poker parlors in Manhattan and I ended up @ Flash Dancers. The joint serves sushi, rest assured I didn't try it there...

Anyway, Efron and one of his buddies from HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL were reportedly @ Flashdancers on Sunday night and he spent two grand doing what they do @ strip clubs. Young Zac denied he spent a couple of K. He said it was about 6 bucks...

I don't think you can get a beer @ Flashdancers for $6...

Going off topic, the kid is a San Francisco Giants fan. That's a good thing...

david lee golden state warriors...

I was happy the Warriors traded for the ex-Knick and Florida Gator.

He recently hurt the middle finger on his right hand causing much concern for Golden State fans because of the serious wrist injury of Udoh the first round pick from Baylor who'll be out for six months...

I saw Lee @ a Giants game versus Florida on Monday night and his finger looked fine. He'll be more than ready for training camp. This will give him an opportunity to work on dribbling and shooting with his left hand while nursing his right hand...

According to an article by Rusty Simmons of the Comicle- Lee on his first full day in town went to a San Francisco elementary school and pledged along with the Warriors and a foundation to refurbish the outdoor basketball court @ the school.

I don't know the background of his father, but Lee's recently departed grandfather donated $70 million over the years to various children's organizations and local universities in St. Louis.

Plus, David Lee attended a funeral for a Knicks security guard even after he was traded to the Warriors so someone from the New York organization would be represented. Man, that tells me a lot about the kid's character...

And I want to thank Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle for writing an excellent article about David Lee showing the humanistic side of the 80 million dollar man who averaged 20.2 points and 11.7 rebounds last season.

sacramento...

I hate to admit that I have an easier time posting on my facebook as opposed to writing on my blog. That's not a good thing...

And twitter, forgetaboutit... Quite frankly, I really don't find much use for that site. I don't tweet on a consistent basis. And when I do, it's usually to complain about something...

Well, I'm heading to Sacramento today to check out the State Fair. I haven't been for a few years and I'm really looking forward to it...

This year, they moved up the state fair to run in July, as opposed to August- trying to drum up business that has been lacking for the past several years.

I think I might go for some deep fried frog legs up there...

jack tatum...

The Oakland Raider was one of the hardest hitters to ever play football has passed away @ 61 from a massive heart attack. Tatum had battled diabetes.

Tatum will forever be known as the safety who layed a hit on New England wide receiver Darryl Stingley in a preseason game which paralyzed him.

Stingley died in 2007 after living nearly 30 years as a quadriplegic.

I must admit, I had patterned my game off of Tatum. I was a hard hitter when I played football...

The Ohio State Buckeye was also criticized for not showing any remorse after paralyzing Stingley. Actually, the two never spoke after that fateful hit on August 12, 1978.

I saw Tatum @ a club in Lake Tahoe many years ago and he really looked like a menacing individual.

However, he was a great football player and he died much too young...

diana terranova...

I haven't written about my friend Diana Terranova for awhile. She just spent a fabulous weekend @ Comic-Con in San Diego. Judging from the pic, she's a great kisser... Diana's acting career has taken off since I met her @ Macworld in January of 2009.

In a previous post, I mentioned her two episode stint on one of my favorite shows on television CALIFORNICATION. Diana was in a Sundance film SYMPATHY FOR THE DELICIOUS directed by Mark Ruffalo(who's the new Hulk) in which I had tickets @ the fest, but unfortunately I didn't attend... She had a memorable role in GET HIM TO THE GREEK. And she'll be in ENTOURAGE. The credits go on and on...

One thing great about Ms. Terranova, she doesn't take herself too seriously and is willing to do just about anything to get a laugh- hence the above photo...

oakland coliseum...

Think twice when you're noshing on one of those $1 hot dogs during an A's game...

ESPN's Outside the Lines has published a report on health code violations of major sports venues around the nation...

34% of the vendors @ the Coliseum had critical health code violations. One example, there isn't enough hand-washing equipment.

AT&T Park 4% of the vendors were found to violate health codes- storing food @ improper temperature...

The Coliseum is worst in Cali and AT&T was second only to Honda Center in Anaheim 3% to be being the safest.

Verizon Center in Washington DC had 100% of their vendors with major violations- mice droppings was a problem...

perry's embarcadero...

bruce jenkins...

He's written some decent columns for the Comicle, but basically I can't stand him. In his last 3 Dot blog he compares the signing of Dontrelle Willis with the Giants to the Warriors signing an aged and decrepit Chris Webber two seasons ago. Dickey writes that it was a very bad idea to give Willis another shot...

Dontrelle may never pitch another inning in the majors, although I hope does. The Giants do need a left handed reliever who can get left handed batters out. However, if Willis falters in the minors, San Francisco will never promote him to to the big club.

This really is a no risk investment in Dontrelle who is still only 28 years old. If he gets his head together and makes a comeback that not too many expect him to do- it will be a great story for the Encinal grad.

Chris Webber was 34 going on 35 when the Warriors brought him back for a second go round with arthritic knees. And he started eight games.

Dontrelle Willis 28 without an injury in MLB is relatively young. His confidence might be lost, but let's just wait and see whether he can come back. I believe Arizona rushed him too fast back to the major leagues...

Forget Bruce Jenkins...

kurt suzuki...

Catcher for the Oakland A's. From Hawaii- Wailuki, Maui to be more specific. Went to Cal State Fullerton where he won the Johnny Bench Award to honor the best catcher in college baseball that particular season.

Kurt Suzuki just signed a contract extension with Oakland to keep him from filing for arbitration. Whether that's a good thing for Suzuki and the A's remains to be seen. Of recent note, any player who has signed a long term contract with Oakland is either traded away or the player can't stay on the field...

The A's contract with Eric Chavez is on par with the Aaron Rowand deal with the Giants. However, @ least Rowand is well enough to play. Yet, both are horrible, horrible contracts!! Chavez is perpetually injured...

Anyway, I wish the best for Kurt Suzuki...

chris carter of the sacramento rivercats...

The 23 year old who's a farmhand in the Oakland A's minor league system has 141 career minor league home runs thus far...

He's batting only .241 this season, therefore I don't think he's ready to be called up just yet, but I foresee Chris Carter getting promoted to the A's during September when rosters are expanded.

There's another Chris Carter who plays for the Mets from Stanford and De La Salle High School.

jamie moyer...

The 47 year old pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies who just injured his left elbow.

Moyer is 9-9 this season, which I think is incredible for someone who isn't that much younger than I am...

I hope Jamie comes back from his potentially career ending injury, however I respect someone who can compete against kids about half his age- that's fucking incredible!

Moyer's career record is 267-204. I don't think they're Hall of Fame numbers, but simply a phenomenal career.

19 polk...

Not the best line to take...

Especially going east after about Pine Street...

I'm happy I rarely take the 19 Polk...

inception...

I've followed director Christopher Nolan's career since he did FOLLOWING(1998)- which was done for about $5K before it was transferred to 35MM. I was a big fan of MEMENTO(2000), but after several viewings I'm over the film. However, I still respect the premise of the movie and the showcasing of the emerging talent of Nolan...

INCEPTION has a great cast and to be perfectly frank I can't really express a reasonable opinion on the film until I see it for the second time.

However, I will say being Japanese, I was thrilled to see Ken Watanabe have a major role in the film, but I had a hard time understanding his dialog. I mentioned facetiously to a buddy who I viewed INCEPTION with, when Saito(Watanabe) spoke subtitles were needed... I first became familiar with Watanabe in the classic Japanese film TAMPOPO(1985)- about the search for the perfect ramen...

darrius heyward-bey...

Wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders. He's the highest paid athlete in the Bay Area. 21.5 million this season. Give me a fucking break. That figure alone should put Al Davis in the looney bin...

I can't believe it.

butterscotch budino...

Great mens rooms...

And outside in the mall there's free wifi...

Clean toilets and gratis internet- what more can a man ask for?

Okay, there's a Gentlemen's Club a block or two away on Market Street...

the girl who played with fire...

Saw the film @ my favorite theaters- Embarcadero Cinemas.

The second film of a series starting with THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. I believe there's 4 parts to the series. Hollywood is making a version of the first Swedish film of the series directed by David Fincher(SE7EN). I just hope they don't fuck it up like they have with many films that were originally European or Japanese, etc...

THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE was directed by a different director.

Noomi Rapace is excellent in the lead role as Lisbeth Salander. The second lead Mikael Blomkvist played by Michel Nyqvist is also strong...

The movie does have a look of a television crime drama with violence and nudity. Apparently, it's part of a four part series on Swedish television called MILLENNIUM.

Based on the novels by the late Stieg Larsson.

MILLENNIUM is a trilogy. The third installment is THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNETS' NEST.

don mattingly...

The guy was a great hitter @ one time who basically lost his stroke when he was 29 years old and retired @ around 34. Was it due to his back problems, we'll never know? He was on the verge of a Hall of Fame career...

He's now a bench coach for Joe Torre and sports one of those soul patches. But come on, when your soul patch is white- it can look like... Use your imagination...

jeremy lin a golden state warrior...

The news that Lin will be signing with the Warriors has actually put tears in my eyes...

I am so happy for the kid returning home to play for his beloved Golden State Warriors...

Jeremy will be an immediate crowd favorite with Golden State and I bet his jersey will be the best selling jersey for the Warriors...

The Asian American basketball loving population of the Bay Area, especially the Chinese population has a big smile on their face tonight...

I know I'm a happy man and I'm Japanese American...

the big island of hawaii is the largest island in the us...

That moron from Wasilla stated that Kodiak Island in Alaska was the largest island in America...

Can't she ever stop making a fool out of herself?

If I'm not mistaken, the dimwit went to University of Hawaii Hilo for a minute, until she realized it rains a lot in Hilo. About 130 inches a year. Which is over 3X the amount of yearly rainfall my hometown of Seattle gets...

You would think having lived and gone to school in Hawaii, specifically the Big Island, she would know that simple fact that the Big Island is the Big Island in the USA...

Well, it's documented that the numbskull went to Hawaii Pacific University in downtown Honolulu, but UH Hilo has no record of her attendance...

By the way, dumbshit left HPU reportedly because it was sunny everyday in Honolulu(no change of seasons) and too many Asians...

joan rivers tweets about lindsay lohan...

By the way, go see her doc A PIECE OF WORK...

Joan's tweet, "I was just reading about the new Lindsay Lohan diet, which is all liquid, 80 Proof."

Here's another, "Lindsay Lohan said she wouldn't mind being under oath because she thought Oath was a Norwegian ski instructor."

And one more, "Lindsay Lohan is so dumb. Her idea of being sworn in is cursing at the judge."

It really is sad that the young actress who was so good as a child actress in the remake of THE PARENT TRAP has become basically a hot mess...

Before Lohan turned 21, I was disappointed that so many club owners would allow her to drink and party in their establishments illegally. They were just enabling her to become the addict that she is now...

repudiate...

Refuse to accept or be associated with... Deny the truth of validity of...

That hideous person who is divisive and not to mention a mental midget has coined a new word- refudiate. She tweets, "Ground Zero supporters: doesn't it stab you in the heart, as it does ours throughout the heartland? Peaceful Muslims, pls refudiate."

How can anyone take this person seriously?

jeremy lin...

I was fortunate enough to watch him play live his senior season in high school- where he led Palo Alto High School over favored Mater Dei to the California State High School Basketball Championship(Division II). The kid really impressed me that night in Sacramento and I have followed his career @ Harvard. My one regret is that I didn't get to see him play in college. Harvard played @ Stanford and Santa Clara during his four year career. And I could have visited my niece and nephew in New York City and seen him play against Columbia.

I just returned from Vegas with the intention of seeing Lin play in the NBA Summer League, but the Dallas Mavericks weren't in action the first two nights I was there and my flight on Thursday was too close to departure to comfortably watch the game where he came into national attention by schooling #1 pick in the NBA Draft John Wall of the Washington Wizards.

Lin now has the option of signing with the guard heavy Mavs who gave him the opportunity on their summer league team. And apparently, the Lakers are also interested, plus an unnamed east coast team.

If the Lakers don't resign guard Shannon Brown, there might be a better opportunity for Lin to make a roster, although they resigned Derek Fisher and signed free agent point guard Steve Blake. Blake is 30 years old and Fisher is 35. The problem is that the Lakers no longer have a D-league team and the Mavericks will have a brand spanking new team in Frisco, which is basically North Dallas.

The new few days will very interesting for young Jeremy Lin...

I was hoping the Giants would sign Dontrelle and let him see whether he can work out his pitching woes for the Fresno Grizzlies or let him pitch for the high single A San Jose Giants.

I'm happy they did. The kid from Alameda is still only 28 years old. I wish him well...

hooter's casino in vegas...

Not what you'd call an upscale casino...

I used to go to Dan Marino's to enjoy the chicken wings special after midnight- now the place is called something else and no more 25 cent wings. I'm somewhat disappointed...

Now, there is no reason to go to Hooter's Casino...

bj's on tropicana near koval...

The place is a dive, but this joint has pretty bartenders. Amber is one of them. Plus, their outfits are pretty provocative...

Excellent chicken wings and cheap beer. BJs also has video poker machines. You get one free drink with a $20 buy-in. It's probably better to pay for the drinks. My $4 Heineken light ended up costing $22.

blind post...

Just ran into an attractive young lady who used to date a gentleman who works @ a wine shop/bar that I frequent...

While they were dating, I used to see her around town @ night hanging out with friends in the food and beverage industry.

I hate to say it- but I knew the relationship wouldn't last. She's a pretty lady and she has a slew of male friends who were probably waiting for them to break up...

jamarcus russell...

What a fucking joke! Okay, like Sarah Palin, he's a rich fucking joke...

The ex-Raider and number one pick in the NFL Draft got arrested for possession of codeine syrup.

Yes, JaMarcus is the biggest bust in NFL history, bigger than Ryan Leaf.

Once a head case, always a head case...

yet another john wooden quote...

It's the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen.

Okay, I'll throw in another John Wooden quote.

Failure is not fatal, but failure to change might be.

dontrelle willis...

DFA stands for designated for assignment. Which usually means, the MLB team is cutting ties with the player. Sometimes the player goes to the minors, but usually they try to trade him or release him outright.

Pitcher Dontrelle Willis has been designated for assignment by the Arizona Diamondbacks for the second time this season. The Detroit Tigers designated Dontrelle earlier in the season.

Alameda's Willis once won 22 games in a season, has a World Series ring with the Florida Marlins and was Rookie of the Year.

He's still only 28 years old, but it seems that Willis' time is over as a major leaguer.

I wish the best for the kid. Perhaps, the A's or the Giants will give him a shot...

one of the stars of entourage...

I don't know if the guy is full of shit or what? I'm watching him in an interview by a famous film critic. I've lost some respect for the critic since he's really kissing this thespian's ass...

The actor definitely loves the ladies and he had an alleged fellatio incident @ a sports club in the City...

A brand new porn star also claims to have slept with him. But I'm not sure whether she can decipher who she fucks- man, woman, alien, etc...

Well, I've made up my mind, I think he's full of shit... Meaning, I believe he's an asshole too...

seeing someone from the past...

The other night @ Raley Field in West Sacramento I saw a woman I dated over ten years ago. And she still looked good...

I didn't say anything because the relationship didn't end well and I was to blame for it. I actually shielded my face so she wouldn't see me.

I'm just a bit saddened that I couldn't say hey and ask her how she's been doing all these years...

About three months ago, I saw an ex-girlfriend walking in Ala Moana Shopping Center in Honolulu. She looked so matronly that I didn't make the effort to say Aloha. In this case, the relationship ended well and we actually saw each other several years after we broke up.

It sucks getting old...

Watching a rerun of NO RESERVATIONS in Chicago.

He lost some credibility with me when he said only two cities in America deserve to called The City- New York and Chicago.

And he also doesn't like chicken & waffles... That wasn't in the Chicago show.

To me, the only cities that deserve to be called The City in the US of A are my City-San Francisco and my favorite city- New York City...

No offense to Chicago... Isn't Chicago- the Second City or the Windy City?

Roscoe's House of Chicken 'n Waffles, Los Angeles, CA, 90028 -
Posted by nynotes on 11/17/2002. Just had breakfast/lunch at Roscoe's this morning. I'm a breast man and Roscoe's makes them tender and tasty. ...

I had chicken & waffles three times in less than a week.

None of the three spots compare to Roscoe's...

And yes, I'm still a breast man who enjoys them tender and tasty...

another john wooden quote...

"You can't live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you."

john wooden legs, not the legendary coach john wooden...

In her book "Going Rogue" the village idiot Sarah Palin quotes the great UCLA coach John Wooden- " Our land is everything to us... I will tell you one of the things we remember on our land. We remember our grandfathers paid for it- with their lives."

The problem is the abbreviated and not totally accurate quote was by John Wooden Legs, a Native-American activist referring to the Battle of Little Big Horn.

This is a real quote by the late John Wooden- "Be prepared and be honest."

Obviously, Palin hasn't read any of John Wooden's books...

good riddens bengie molina...

Never was a Bengie Molina fan. Slow and just an average defensive catcher. Never walks, hits into double plays @ an alarming rate. And he was on the Angels when they beat the Giants in the 2002 World Series. A World Series that took me more than a few years to recover from...

It's time to give Buster Posey the catching job and allow Eli Whiteside to be more than a personal catcher for Jonathan Sanchez.
