toby gerhart...

Went to the Notre Dame- Stanford game on Saturday night to see Gerhart run for 200+ yards, catch a crucial 33 yard pass, and throw a TD pass.

It was an entertaining game with virtually no defense.

I enjoy going to a game @ Stanford Stadium...

And it was Charlie Weiss' last game as head coach of the Irish...

oakridge mall...

In San Jose. Just a fair shopping center, but there is a mini Apple Store, a post office, a Nordstrom Rack, movie theaters, Andersen Bakery, and a Target...

konocti harbor...

I heard the place shut down.

I only went there once in all the years I lived in the Bay Area and it was to see EARTH WIND & FIRE in the 5,000 seat outdoor amphitheater.

It was a great concert and Maurice White was still performing for the group.

Can't say I'm going to miss the venue, but I do have fond memories of Konocti Harbor...

noe valley...

I've lived in the City for many years and I recall going to Noe Valley only three times...

Just got my haircut from Homer/Steffon @ his salon called Episode on Church near 26th.

Currently having dinner @ Hahn's Hibachi on 24th and Castro. I haven't been to a Hahn's in years and it was the Polk St location.

Their BBQ chicken is tasty. The sauce/gravy is the key...

I think I'm going to become more familiar with Noe Valley...

showing class...

After the Eagles beat the Bears on Sunday Night Football, Donovan McNabb took more than a few minutes to give words of encouragement to Bears QB Jay Cutler.

I guess that's one of the reasons I've been a quasi Eagles fan since Donovan has been quarterback... It started when he was booed by Philly fans when he got drafted to being criticized by that idiot Limbaugh(who had no business being on ESPN)for being overrated to having T.O. trash him for his Super Bowl performance for being out of shape to the Eagles drafting Kevin Kolb to replace him. He's always risen above those situations...

The kid hasn't won the Super Bowl, but he's always been a winner...

from 6-0 to 6-4...

I knew from the start that the Denver Broncos were not a good team, especially since they were led by a petulant punk kid from the Bill Belichick coaching tree.

The Broncos have a tough game on Turkey Day against the New York Football Giants and I for one will be pulling for the team that plays its home games in Jersey, although I'm not a fan.

Head coaches weaned by Belichick are a combined 13-18 counting Notre Dame, Cleveland, and Denver. And it's pretty much a done deal that the fat guy coaching the Irish is gone after the season, even if they beat Stanford @ Palo Alto this Saturday.

The guy coaching the Browns may be gone after the season, he's just a divisive prick who didn't deserve another head coaching job after running the Jets into the ground. And he got a fat raise? There is no justice in the world...

dick enberg...

The long time CBS announcer needs to retires. He's making so many mistakes calling the San Diego-Denver game.

I don't know how many times he mistakes Charger running back Darren Sproles for LT...

He reminds me of Curt Gowdy screwing up Darnell Valentine's name in the Big Dance many, many moons ago... Over and over again...

andre ward...

Oaktown's own is now a World Champion by outpointing Mikkel Kessler @ the Oracle Arena...

A trainer from my club Ron Callo is the strength trainer for Ward.

I couldn't believe how much an underdog Ward was?

The Showtime time announcers/analysts are horrible and I used to respect a few of them and I won't name their names.

I'll name one- Al Bernstein. He's terrible!!

Monta Ellis is ringside.

Kessler is a poor loser.

Currently dining @ Amber India San Francisco...

Didn't see Steffi Graf...

In the Bay Area for his book tour.

I am an Andre Agassi fan...

an extreme head case...

Well, it turns out that I did have a couple glasses of wine with the lady I met on Wednesday night.

We ended up @ a bar/restaurant where I know the bartender very well and she recognized the female I was with from another establishment. Apparently, the person who I was having a glass of wine with is a pain in the ass customer with a reputation...

I'm not going to bore any of my readers of any more details about this extreme head case...

I will say that I haven't had much luck with women of recent note, but it doesn't stop me from pounding away...

cock blocking...

Obviously, the prick who sat to the left of the chick who was I was talking to doesn't have a fucking clue... The bar was empty, he could have sat anywhere...

I met a blonde @ a particular bar in the City that I frequent and we were getting along well and this moron cock blocks me...

The asshole doesn't know the man code that you don't interfere with another guy when he's talking to a lady...

I'm so pissed!!!!

open carry law...

I try to write everyday on this blog, but sometimes I just don't have any inspiration and I realize I write a majority of time about sports, therefore I try to temper my desire to write about what I love too much...

Just moments ago, I found something interesting to write about...

I just realized that we in Cali can openly carry a firearm, however it must be unloaded and holstered. Ammunition can't be attached to the gun. "The weapon can be inspected, but there can be no search for the gun's serial number. The open carrier cannot be within 1,000 feet of a school, on the grounds of a college or university, or government buildings or secure areas of airports." KTVU

KTVU "People with drug or violent crime convictions or mental disorders cannot open carry."

LA Times "In cities within the state, publicly displayed guns must not be loaded. In unincorporated areas, loaded guns can be carried openly unless a local ordinance prohibits it."

So basically in a city like San Francisco, I can carry a gun, but I need to keep the bullets in my pocket?

cincinnati bengals...

They signed extreme head case Larry Johnson as an insurance policy in the event Cedric Benson's injury is significant.

I just don't understand why the Bengals have the propensity to hire such head cases like Larry Johnson, Tank Johnson, Chris Henry, etc...

Cincy is well on its way to having a special season and picking up a problem like Larry Johnson just puzzles me...

quince...

On Pacific near Montgomery.

Quite frankly, it's a very uncomfortable place to dine...

Me and a buddy sat @ the bar and had a bottle of wine(a fantastic wine list) and a couple orders of pasta.

The chianti we had was great and the pasta was very good.

I just don't like the service because it's so damn stuffy. There were three men behind the bar wearing suits and ties. Right there, that made me uncomfortable. These guys looked more like bankers than bartenders and bar backs. And they take their job too seriously. They rarely smiled and each of the dudes looked so robotic. I couldn't wait to get the fuck out of there and have a Macallan 12 @ Mr. Bing's...

good riddens stephen jackson...

He's going to have a hell of a time playing for Larry Brown...

Jackson loves Michael Jordan, but MJ hasn't done shit as GM or part-owner or whatever the fuck he was with the Wizards and now the Bobcats. Greatness as a player rarely translates into greatness as a coach or GM. Jerry West was a Hall of Fame player and executive...

The Warriors will never do anything of significance until Chris Cohan sells the team...

And, the Don Nelson 2.0 experience is past its shelf life...

I will watch my projected 30 win Warriors play on television, but I will not take the BART to Oaktown and waste money I can't afford on a shitty team with an overrated coach...

I'm really fucking tired of Don Nelson...

june jones...

In just his second season, the ex-UH coach has led SMU to 6 wins thus far, which makes the Mustangs bowl-eligible. SMU hasn't been bowl-eligible since 1989.

There's a good chance that SMU will go to Honolulu for the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.

unfuckingreal...

Michelle Wie finally gets her first LPGA victory...

I can't believe she's no longer a teenager...

I hope she forgets about trying to compete against the men...

I saw her come in 2nd @ a tournament in Hawaii about three years ago...

Turtle Bay... $5 entry fee...

clay matthews...

This kid from USC is a hell of a linebacker! Way better than his teammate the overrated A.J. Hawk...

And he's a rookie on the Green Bay Packers.

Good genes- his Father played 19 years in the NFL and even his Grandfather played in the League...

denver broncos...

With their punk kid coach has lost three games in a row and their loss to the Redskins today by 10 points was pathetic...

I knew Denver were pretenders. I kept saying they're the worst undefeated team in the NFL for more than a few weeks...

The San Diego Chargers are playing the Broncos next weekend in Denver. A must win for the Chargers...

You know who'll I'll be pulling for...

andre ward...

Oaktown's own is fighting WBA Super Middleweight Champion Mikkel Kessler this Saturday as part of the Super Six World Boxing Classic presented on Showtime.

This fight will occur in Ward's backyard- the Oracle Arena in Oakland which will definitely have a pro-Ward crowd.

I hope to be there...

the san francisco giants marketing department...

They are fantastic!

This past Wednesday, Santana opened @ The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel and I was lucky enough to see the guitar genius...

And tonight, Manny Pacquiao destroyed Miquel Cotto keeping boxing in the limelight...

Both legends were featured with a bobblehead night @ AT&T Park this past season and in Pacman's case two nights had Pacquiao bobbleheads.

How many major league teams sell and promote gear of a musician and a boxer? I'm betting none...

being lucky once in awhile...

Last night, I was lucky enough to have an intelligent young lady who is also beautiful sit next to me on my plane ride home from Las Vegas.

Well, I was going to write that this never happens to me, but I can recall this happening about fives times in my life.

And, lucky me also got dropped off @ my pad in a town car from SFO courtesy of this angel. She is staying @ the Ritz Carlton which is only three blocks from my apartment.

It's good to be lucky once in awhile...

It reminds me of the song "Luck Be A Lady" by Frank Sinatra.

stacy keibler...

I'm @ a party she's hosting...

She's good looking in person, but she has an annoying habit of chewing gum...

It's not appealing...

What do quasi celebrity hosts do?

In my view- nothing...

free wifi on virgin america until jan. 15 2010...

It just started two days ago.

Brought to you by Google.

Log into the signal "gogoinflight."

free wifi @ mccarran...

It sure is nice to have free wifi @ an airport...

And those ReCharge Zones sponsored by Verizon come in handy.

a mediocre cheesesteak @ mccarran airport...

The joint is called Great Steak- America's Premier Cheesesteak.

No it isn't...

I wanted try it since it's in the B Gates area and close to the Virgin America gate to San Francisco.

This place gives you a ton of fries, but they're just not good.

Well, I'm not curious about the place anymore...

leaving las vegas...

As always, I can't wait to blow Dodge...

When watching a concert like Santana @ The Joint in the Hard Rock- gamble in between songs you're not too enthused about... You have in and out privileges.

Don't buy the $40 all you can drink well drink wristband @ Wasted Space. I definitely didn't drink enough to warrant the cost...

what a difference a day makes...

The last few nights @ the Hard Rock have been quiet...

Tonight, with Carlos Santana opening his semi-permanent concert series @ The Joint- the joint is jumping!!

And, I'll be there in less than an hour...

room service...

Convenient, but basically a waste of dough...

Here's my bill from last night:

Buffalo Wings 11.95
Sliders 10.95
Subtotal 22.90
Gratuity 4.12
Service Charge 3.00
Tax 2.10
Total 32.12
Tip 2.00
Total. 34.12

The server was a cute young lady, therefore I gave her $2 extra tip- which already included an 18% gratuity($4.12)plus a $3 service charge.

I basically paid a little over $9 to have food delivered to my room for food that sells for $25 including tax.

No more room service this trip...

shuttle from the hard rock cafe...

Adjacent to the Hard Rock Hotel in LV.

Runs on an hourly basis @ the top of the hour from 10am to 10pm...

Drop off spots Tuscany, Hilton Vacations, and Fashion Show Mall.

Pick up @ Fashion Show Mall 15 minutes after the hour.

comfortable shoes...

Very important when one is walking around in Vegas...

My dogs are hurting right now and I'm wearing some K-Swiss which are quite comfortable...

I can't wait to go back to the hotel to soak my feet...

apple store in the forum shops...

In Caesar's Palace...

In Vegas, baby...

Now, I don't have to go to the Fashion Showplace Mall...

Gotta love it!!

bellagio buffet...

It's one of my favs in Vegas...

The sushi isn't good...

Sushi is usually the weak spot @ any LV buffet...

I'm a carrot cake guy and they do a good job...

To bypass the line- sit @ the bar. You can also pay @ the bar, instead @ the front cashier.

It will save you a bunch of time... And you'll get your beverages faster.

larry johnson...

In my mind, there is only one LJ in sports, the one who played for UNLV's 1990 NCAA Championship Basketball team...

The headcase who was just released by the Kansas City Chiefs doesn't do the name justice...

To a lesser degree, this Larry Johnson reminds me of ex-Nebraska running back Lawrence Phillips in his violence towards women.

I'm very happy that the Chiefs didn't allow the Johnson to break Priest Holmes' career rushing record with the club. I find that just desserts for the moron...

sammy sosa...

I was shocked when I saw a recent pic of the ex-Cubs slugger. Obviously, the pic on the right...

He looks like he has has a bunch of pancake makeup on...

Sosa has also taken to wearing green contact lenses...

I'm just going to say, "wow!"

Sunday, November 8, 2009

tampa bay wins their first game...

Under rookie head coach Raheem Morris wearing those infamous orange unis...

I'm partial to orange...

My high school wears orange and blue and my San Francisco Giants don orange and black...

speaking of saying stupid things while drunk...

That dumb fuck David Chang from Momofuku was in town and was involved with some panel discussion @ Cafe Du Nord.

I recently watched a short video from 7X7 covering the event...

Obviously, the moron was drunk, but he didn't have anything to say. Literally, nothing...

I was waiting for him to say something stupid...

saying stupid inappropriate things when you're drunk...

Last night, I went specifically to a popular restaurant/bar to thank a young lady who works as a cocktail server @ said restaurant, but also is a true genius regarding iPhones @ the Genius Bar @ an unspecified Apple Store. She took care of a problem I had with an iPhone...

Anyway, to make a long story short, I probably had one too many single malt scotches and when I said goodnight to the genius, I said something like...

I have decided not to reveal my comment...

Use your imagination...

yelp...

I just read in the Comicle about a dispute between a business owner and a customer who gave her a very negative review...

I no longer yelp because I gave a restaurant a negative review where I personally knew the owner. He asked me to remove the review and I refused and the cry baby had the review removed from the site...

Take it for what it's worth- money talks and the owner advertises on the site, therefore he can manipulate certain reviews...

Therefore, I find yelp a bullshit guide...

andris biedrins...

He loves eating @ North Beach Restaurant after games...

Last season, he brought ex-Warrior, now Raptor Mario Bellinelli to the famous eatery in North Beach quite often...

The 9 Million dollar year man drives a Bentley. He can afford it...

Lamb is one of his favorite dishes...

henry bibby...

Ex-NBA player and coach. Father of current NBA player Mike Bibby.

Saw him twice in the Union Square area today. The first time near Macys and the second time walking along Yerba Buena Lane carrying a bunch of bags from Ross...

I believe he's on the Memphis Grizzlies coaching staff...

ny is worried...

Yes, I'm worried about Andy Pettitte pitching on three days rest...

Yes, I'm worried about the defending champs coming back to beat the Yankees...

However, the DH comes back into play @ Yankee Stadium- which means Hideki Matsui with his .556 average in the World Series is back batting full-time, rather than pinch hitting...

However, I'm still worried...

savoring championships...

In 2000, Derek Jeter was only 26 with 4 World Series rings...

I bet he didn't foresee waiting 9 seasons for another title. Yes, the Yanks haven't won just yet, but it's very improbable for the Phillies to comeback from a 3-1 deficit...

Money can buy you championships, but the Yankees have been outspending every team in MLB for years and haven't won shit for nearly this whole decade...

It amazes me that a team that spends so much doesn't even have a legitimate 4th starter on the team. Ex-A Chad Gaudin give me a fucking break!!

Yes, Chien Ming Wang is hurt, but I'm not certain that the former two-time 19 game winner will ever be effective again?

My San Francisco Giants haven't won a title in the over 50 years they've been in the Bay. 2002 was close, but no cigars...

If and when it happens, I will savor this Yankees win...

chutney...

An Indian/Pakistani restaurant located on Jones between O'Farrell and Geary.

It's open until midnight.

I usually have the same thing most of the time the chicken boti with a naan. Although, last night I also ordered lamb curry.

I like how they serve you a free lettuce and tomato salad with lemon with your meal.

And I really enjoy the milk tea that is also provided gratis, although there must be a lot of caffeine in the drink, because I have a hard time getting to sleep when I have a couple cups of the tasty stuff...

It's a comfortable place to dine which makes it a go to place for me...

yankees up 3-1...

I hope Burnett closes out the series tomorrow in Philly, but he's up against Cliff Lee- who's been the best pitcher in the playoffs...

Sunday, November 1, 2009

willie brown's column in the comicle...

It's a fucking joke...

His November 1st headline is "Newsom quits race a winner with bright future."

Come on...

I don't read SF Weekly very often, but there was an excellent article about the shitty mayor dated 9/09/09 by Ashley Harrell called "The Wrong Stuff." A very appropriate title...

I was going to volunteer for Jerry Brown's campaign for governor when or if he announces his candidacy because the incompetent mayor of my City was running. Now, I don't feel the need...

Then Brown writes that he walked out of the film COCO BEFORE CHANEL because he doesn't do subtitles. The reason Brown doesn't do subtitles because the dude is blind. He can't see them...
