Never again order the mac daddy pancakes @ MAC 24-7 in Waikiki...

don't trust websites regarding store hours...

The Waikiki Apple Store is listed to be open @ 10am. I walked by the joint before 9am and it's open for business...

dancing with the stars...

I have to admit, I watch the show from time to time...

Other than 80 year old astronaut Buzz Aldrin who looks stiff as a board dancing- Kate Gosselin is one of the worst female dancers I've seen on the program. I hope she gets eliminated this week...

I'm reading too much about her diva like behavior. One reason figure skater Johnny Weir declined to appear on the show was a very bad experience dealing with Kate Gosselin in a charity event last September.

The homemade corn beef hash is very good- served with white rice, eggs, and topped with gravy. Onolicious!

montana...

The university has good looking cheerleaders...

sandra bullock...

When Sandra Bullock didn't thank her husband when she accepted her Academy Award for Best Actress, I was a bit perplexed...

Apparently, she may have known of her husband's alleged affair with a heavily tattooed model.

udub...

I hope my Huskies beat Marquette tomorrow in the 1st Round of the NCAA Tournament...

cal basketball...

I usually go to a few games in Berkeley to watch the Cal Mens Basketball team, but this season I have not...

Today, I watched the Bears on television basically take apart the Oregon Ducks @ the Staples Center in the Pac 10 Tournament.

I'm very impressed with Pac 10 Player of the Year Jerome Randle. And the three other senior starters on CAL- Jamal Boykin, Patrick Christopher, and Theo Robertson...

Boykin has really improved from his previous seasons in Berkeley. I believe Christopher has fell in love with the 3-point shot a little too much for his athletic ability. I think he'd be more effective as a slasher. Robertson who I saw play for De La Salle in high school is just a solid college player...

I really believe CAL can make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament if they get a decent seed and draw.

le meridien...

Nice bathrooms...

Been using the mens room in that location for too many years to count...

The hotel used to be called the Park Hyatt.

dick's drive in...

My favorite hamburger joint on this planet in my hometown of Seattle, WA...

I prefer to go to the store on Queen Anne Ave near the Seattle Center. There's plenty of seating...

Been to the location in Wallingford on 45th a bunch of times during my U-Dub years...

The one on Broadway is small and parking can be difficult...

I just realized Dick's is open from 10:30am to 2am daily...

in the rain...

By the Dramatics...

I wanna go outside, in the rain...

It may sound crazy, but I wanna go outside, in the rain...

On my way home... A private ride back to Nob Hill on the cable car...

It's fucking nice...

life...

I just found out today that a friend's daughter has leukemia and she's only four years old...

She was diagnosed on her 4th birthday in September...

I don't even know what to say...

All I know, health is the most important aspect of life- nothing else is even close...

text messaging...

It's part of the world now, but it can give a person a false sense of security in a friendship or relationship...

The only real way to know where you stand with an individual is seeing them face to face...

another kathryn bigelow post...

She's about 6 feet tall...

Kathryn directed one of my favorite Patrick Swayze movies- POINT BREAK...

She was born in San Carlos and attended the San Francisco Art Institute for two years...

the first woman best director...

Kathryn Bigelow...

sandra bullock...

I'm very happy for her...

I really enjoyed the film THE BLIND SIDE...

jeff bridges...

This is what I've been waiting for...

Best Actor...

kathryn bigelow on the red carpet...

I've read the production cost of HURT LOCKER was between $11-15M. The film is @ about $21M foreign and about $15M domestic.

One more time, Kathryn Bigelow looks incredible for 58...

kathryn bigelow...

I really do hope she wins for Best Director- HURT LOCKER.

Kathryn is 58 years old and she looks phenomenal!

alice in wonderland...

My goodness... I just read in the LA Times that it took in an estimated $210 million worldwide this weekend.

And an estimated $116 million in the US and Canada. The biggest first quarter opening in history.

I'm not a big Tim Burton fan, therefore I don't plan on seeing this 3-D film.

It really looks like 3-D has become the present...

woody winning a spirit award...

Woody Harrelson won the best supporting male @ the Spirit Awards on Friday night. If my memory serves me right, the Film Independent Spirit Awards used to be held during the afternoon on the Saturday before the Academy Awards. Yesterday was the 25th Anniversary of the Spirit Awards.

I must admit, I didn't see Woody's performance in THE MESSENGER and more than likely, I won't see it...

I'm happy for the guy. And I'm glad to see Jeff Bridges win a Spirit Award best male lead for his great performance in CRAZY HEART. I'm hoping Bridges wins the Oscar, in which he's the favorite...

rug burns...

For some reason, I got into a conversation about rug burns(knees) and I stupidly said that women don't get them and a friend of mine showed me a rug burn she's had since last June. She acquired it while visiting London...

Many years ago, I had a quasi long distance relationship and one time when I saw her, I had fresh rug burns on my knees and when she inquired about them, I told her I fell down. And I think she bought it...

michael bauer's review of kokkari in the comicle...

It's been over two years since I frequented the joint...

I will say Kokkari nurtured my love for Greek food.

I knew everyone there, therefore I always had great service except for a pretentious server who got promoted to a management position. He is the main reason I no longer go to the restaurant.

Also, unless Bauer is in disguise, I'm pretty sure he's a known entity when he dines @ Kokkari. Hell, I know what Michael Bauer looks like...

I guess the point of this entry is that I miss going to Kokkari and seeing my friends and noshing on some smelt, octopus, lamb riblets, etc...

raining in the city...

I like the rain to a certain degree, but not too much rain like my hometown of Seattle. That's one reason I moved to Cali because I got tired of the rain.

Honestly, I remember certain summers when I don't remember seeing the the sun in Seattle. I'm probably embellishing a bit, but what the fuck...

It's not like it rained hard in Seattle, but it rained all of the time. I believe the average yearly rainfall in my hometown is about 36 inches a year, which is about 10 inches less than New York City gets annually. I mention New York City, because I love the place, but I've visited Manhattan only in the summertime and I've got dumped on by rain each and every visit...

I say this every time when people complain about the rain, "we need the rain."

roger ebert...

I'm sorry, but I've seen the guy everywhere from Honolulu to Park City, Utah and he was always a short robust guy...

Ebert has lost his ability to speak because of cancer and he looks like a shell of himself...

Roger Ebert and the late Gene Shalit really put movie critics into the forefront. I really can't say whether it was a good thing or not, because in my view, a perspective movie goer shouldn't read any review. It really can cloud whether a person will enjoy a movie or not..

I myself, never read reviews. I read reviews after I've seen the film and most of the time, the reviewer really fucks up...

I've always respected Ebert because he's a true film lover and it saddens me to see him in such a state. But, he still plugs on and is a competent critic...

the ghost writer...

The latest from Roman Polanski...

Since Polanski hasn't set foot in the US for 32 years, he used Germany as a backdrop to mimic Martha's Vineyard.

You can really tell when viewing a film directed by an Oscar winning director...

In a subdued performance- Ewan McGregor is very good in the lead role.

Excellent cast with Pierce Brosnan, Kim Cattrall, Tom Wilkinson, Timothy Hutton, and Olivia Williams who really impressed me...

Interesting cameo by Jim Belushi.

I enjoyed the film...

And I forget to mention the presence of the great Eli Wallach...

peet's on chestnut...

This is the first one in the City and I just love to sit outside on the wooden bench checking out the action on Chestnut while partaking in a medium americano- no room for cream...

march...

A new month, a new beginning...

Hopefully, good things are in store this month...

I love March...
