4.09...

The price of the best fresh turkey(not pressed from a roll)and cheese croissant @ Specialtys on Pine off Montgomery.

The croissant isn't Parisian like, but man it's good!

justice is served...

Bernie Madoff is sentenced to 150 years.

just a rash of celebrity deaths...

Fred Travalena who I thought was simply a great impressionist died Sunday @ the age of 66.

The dude that did the Oxyclean commercials- Billy Mays also succumbs on Sunday.

Wow! I guess my point is to live life to its fullest and it shouldn't take a celebrity death to realize that...

short shorts...

Why do certain men still wear them? And the ones that do have horrible bodies.

Why, why, why???

steve kerr...

The guy has lived a charmed life...

He was literally an icon @ U of A. He was lucky to win NBA Championships with Michael Jordan and Tim Duncan. He was lucky to go unscathed when he called Yao Ming a "chinaman" which is definitely derogatory.

How he got the top job in Phoenix is beyond me? His first mistake was letting Mike D'Antoni walk.

His pick of Earl Clark @ the end of the lottery is puzzling? To me, Clark has bust written all over him. Clark was virtually useless in the Big Dance for Louisville. He fashions himself as a perimeter shooter without the shooting ability.

Wasting a second draft pick on Taylor Griffin, Blake's older brother was basically ridiculous. I don't think Taylor Griffin would have been drafted otherwise.

Trading Shaq will immediately make the Cavs a favorite to win a NBA Championship next season. In return, the Suns get an over the hill Ben Wallace and mediocre player Sasha Pavlovic.

Steve Nash is further from a championship and he'll be 36 next season.

Phoenix finished ten games over .500 last season, there is no way in hell they'll be that good next year...

Hopefully, idiot Kerr hands Amare Stoudemire on a silver platter to the Warriors...

hunan home's...

Great hot & sour soup! The hunan chicken is very tasty! The potstickers are just fair... What the fuck, I tried them...

fresh turkey and cheese croissant...

@ Specialtys on Pine near Monty.

It's huge and simply phenomenal!

thursday was a very sad day...

It's generally accepted that Farrah Fawcett was on her death bed, yet it doesn't take away the sadness I felt when she passed away. From her poster and her brief stint on "Charlie's Angels," Farrah was probably the most recognized woman on our planet @ one time in the mid-seventies. She had her ups and downs, but I truly believe Ms. Fawcett died with dignity.

I was in shock regarding Michael Jackson's demise. He is someone who's in my age range and his talent just astounded me @ such a young age with the Jackson 5. I remember having 45s of songs like "ABC" and "I'll Be There." "Thriller" is one of the top selling album of all-time, but I really enjoyed his album- "Off the Wall." Jackson transformed into a strange individual, but it's disheartening that he passed away before his comeback tour in London. Now we are left with an incomplete record of Michael Jackson...

I compare the passing of Michael Jackson to three other icons in my life- JFK, Bruce Lee, and John Lennon.

July 25, 2009 will live in infamy...

patty mills...

A steal for Portland @ 55. He'll prove a lot of teams wrong. The Aussie from St. Marys will be a solid NBA player.

The Olympian should have been a first round pick...

chase budinger...

44th pick for the Detroit Pistons. Can't believe this Arizona product was picked in the mid-second round? Chase is going to Houston.

jon brockman...

38th pick for Portland. One of the best players in University of Washington history. I am so happy for Brockman who is also one of my favorite Huskies of all-time...

He'll be teamed with Husky Brandon Roy. Apparently not, he'll be teamed with his ex-teammate Spencer Hawes in Sacramento.

dajuan blair...

37th pick for the San Antonio Spurs. Should have been a first round pick. Great pick for the Spurs!

christian eyenga...

Cleveland pick. I definitely have never heard of him... Last pick of the first round. From the Congo.

tony douglass...

Lakers pick going to the Knicks. Florida State. Don't know anything about him.

wayne ellington...

Minnesota pick. Winner. Good shooter from North Carolina. Three first round picks for North Carolina.

demarre carroll...

Memphis pick. Don't know a thing about him. From Florida State.

taj gibson...

Bulls pick. Seen Gibson play a lot. Can't shoot. Better value in the second round.

Six first round picks for the PAC 10...

rodrigue beaubois...

Thunder pick. Don't know a thing about him.

According to Bucher, he's going to the Mavs for Mullens.

b.j. mullens...

Mavericks pick. Don't get why he left for the NBA? Raw. Bust?

Three years in a row, an Ohio State freshman center has opted for the NBA and gets picked in the first round...

omri casspi...

Kings pick. Highly rated kid from Israel.

victor claver.

Portland pick. Never heard of him. A kid from Spain. The Trailblazers love those players from Spain.

darren collison...

New Orleans pick. Great college point guard. A true point guard.

eric maynor...

Jazz pick. Good pick.

jeff teague...

Hawks pick. Wake Forest point guard who I don't know much about.

ty lawson...

Great pick for Minnesota, but they have already picked two other point guards. Lawson is the second best point guard in the draft to me...

According to Ric Bucher of ESPN, this pick will be moved to Denver.

jrue holiday...

76ers pick. I would have picked Lawson over this kid from UCLA. He looked horrible during March Madness...

james johnson...

Bulls pick. Don't know much about the kid from Wake Forest.

austin daye...

Detroit. Weak. Don't get it? Could be a bust.

earl clark...

Phoenix pick. Don't like that pick. They could have picked a point guard like Ty Lawson to replace Steve Nash.

tyler hansbrough...

Indiana's pick. Wow! The Pacers need a point guard and they pick Psycho-T.

gerald henderson...

Charlotte's pick. A Dukie, a son of an NBA player. Very athletic.

terrence williams...

My guy from my high school-Rainier Beach and Louisville. All-around player. Must work on his jump shot.

New Jersey is going to love this guy!

brandon jennings...

I like this pick for the Bucks. Saw him play in high school. Physically gifted, must work on his jump shot.

demar derozan...

USC. He'll be okay with Toronto.

jordan hill...

Good solid pick for the Knicks. Arizona.

stephen curry...

I love it! He's born to be on the Warriors! Son of an NBA player Dell Curry.

jonny flynn...

I like this kid from Syracuse. To me, he was the best point guard in the draft.

40 inch vertical leap. Two point guards in a row for the T-Wolves.

ricky rubio...

Probably a good fit for Minnesota. Kevin Love will love playing with Rubio.

tyreke evans...

Wow! I thought the Kings would take Rubio?

This kid has a tremendous upside, but he needs a lot of work.

His shooting is suspect.

james harden...

Oklahoma's pick. In my view, he may be a bust. I'm not sold on him...

I've seen Harden play live in high school and in college.

haseem thabeet...

Good pick for Memphis. I'm glad they didn't take Rubio. They already have a point guard in Mike Conley.

Thabeet may be limited offensively, but his shot blocking and defensive presence will help the Grizzlies.

First player in the NBA from Tanzania.

blake griffin...

The obvious #1 pick. He seems to have a good head on his shoulder and his parents seem very solid, as does his brother.

Coach/GM Mike Dunleavy is lucky to have a job. If he doesn't show significant improvement next season, he'll surely be gone and his NBA coaching career is over...

michael jackson...

Man, what a shock! Michael Jackson dead @ 50... I am extremely sad...

farrah fawcett...

God rest her soul...

dottie's true blue cafe...

Located on Jones between Geary and O'Farrell.

First off, I got to the joint when it opened @ 7:30am and I'm relegated to a cramped table near the entrance- it does beat the counter, which can get very tight for a big kahuna like me...

The front person/ server is overly aggressive- her people skills are questionable. I wasn't in my seat 15 seconds and she asked for my order.

The coffee @ this place is fair @ best.

I'm having The Open Road- small oj, 2 poached eggs, italian sausage, home fries, and 2 pancakes. $12.95.

Good hearty meal.

streets of san francisco...

As I wait in line waiting to have breakfast @ Dottie's, I realize how filthy the streets of San Francisco are...

olivia munn again...

I haven't been posting much the past several days because I'm sick, but what sickens me more is Olivia Munn's pictorial in Playboy which shows less than a Maxim pictorial. I subscribe to Playboy for nude pictures and decent articles. This Maxim shit may cause me to cancel my subscription.

I can't fault Munn for getting paid to show virtually nothing in a magazine that is known for its nudity.

The July/August issue is basically a joke with Hef's new quasi-twin girlfriends as Playmates.

Now, if that Heidi headcase from "The Hills" does one of these Munn type of pictorials, I will cancel my subscription...

My goodness, I know this is my second post on this subject, but Munn shows more skin on G4...

the uniqueness of the bay area...

Yesterday, I was in San Jose and it nearly hit 100 degrees, that's way too hot for me and by the time I got home in the City, it was in the 50's. That's one thing great about the Bay Area, you can always get away from the heat. In a place like Vegas, there's virtually no way to beat the heat unless you stay in your hotel room/casino without going outside- which can be dangerous...

mark sanford...

The governor or soon to be ex-governor of South Carolina is one dumb motherfucker...

He has or had a mistress in Argentina? What the fuck? He can't find a lover that is geographically desirable... I'm sure there are plenty of pretty Southern Belles in South Carolina. The University of South Carolina is located in Columbia, SC- I'm sure head football coach Steve Spurrier could have set him up with some hot coeds. BTW, Columbia is the capital of South Carolina...

The idiot is going to resign as the head of the Republican Governors Association.

This conservative was considering a run for the White House in 2012- that pipe dream is over. What gets me is this moron espoused family values and not only leaves his state, but leaves the country to get some pussy. All I can say is wow!

Don't cry for me Argentina... Bye, bye Mark Sanford...

hideki irabu...

He's 40 years old and pitching for the Long Beach Armada in the Golden Baseball League, an independent professional league where players make between 1-3 grand a month plus housing.

Apparently, Irabu wants to see whether he can make a comeback to the major leagues.

One of Irabu's teammates is Jose Lima who last pitched for the Mets in 2006 and still is only 36 years old.

Quite frankly, I don't think he'll make it, but it would be interesting to watch him pitch for Long Beach who are probably getting an attendance boost with Irabu on the roster.

Former Yankee is best known to have been called "a fat toad" by George Steinbrenner.

Former Golden Baseball Leaguers include Ricky Henderson and Jose Canseco.

olivia munn...

She's on G4. Why be on the cover of Playboy and have a pictorial with no nudity? What a crock of shit!!

The above pic is as naked as she gets in the PG rated pictorial.

And to save money Playboy is combining their July/August issues.

That dumb blond from "The Hills" is also going to be in Playboy and my guess it's going to be another non-nude job.

Olivia Munn should be ashamed of herself for posing in such a non-risque pictorial...

Then again, if Playboy is willing to resort to Maxim style photography to keep afloat, I must reconsider if I want to subscribe to Playboy anymore...

scla/new york upper east side...

I used to prefer this club over the Reebok Club on 67th and Columbus, but now I like the Reebok Club a little better.

The rooftop area encompasses the whole rooftop and the views are outstanding.

The twin basketball courts are similar to the Reebok Club.

The cardio area overlooks the free weights and exercise machine area.

The non-executive locker rooms are on the lower level located next to the pool and spa.

I look forward to returning to both clubs in the future. I tried the Rockefeller Center location once and it's nice, but with no basketball court to do my shooting, it's off my list when I visit New York City...

The Upper East Side club is located on 61st between 1st and 2nd.

I like the neighborhood surrounding the Reebok Club better, therefore that's the main reason I prefer the Reebok Club slightly over SCLA/NYC Upper East Side...

reebok club on 67th and columbus...

It's a great club! I love the fact it has two quasi-full court basketball courts. The outdoor running track is very nice. The sundeck is also a fantastic amenity.

What I don't like- when a regular(non-executive) male member wants to take a shower, he must take a flight of stairs down to the shower area. And the shower doors are only five feet high. I believe part of taking a shower is privacy and five feet high doors aren't conducive to privacy.

The Reebok Club is one of the nicest sports clubs I've been to. However, I'm partial to my home Sports Club LA in San Francisco...

hbo store...

Located on 6th(Avenue of the Americas) near 42nd St.

I bought four t-shirts.

A couple on the sale rack, a Manny Pacquiao/Ricky Hatton fight t-shirt and a Queens Boulevard shirt from "Entourage."

A Mr. Big shirt from "Sex in the City" and a "Curb Your Enthusiasm" t-shirt.

I had to spend sixty bucks to get an iPod mini speaker with a Bada Bing logo.

The store is tiny and the lighting makes it difficult to see, but I'm an HBO fan and the merchandise is eclectic.

53rd and 6th halal cart...

Supposedly the better one is open from 7-7:30pm to 4am. I find the cart that runs during the day is just as good. Let me be clear that two different business run a halal cart @ this exact location. One during the day and one @ night...

A learned a couple things last night. Don't put too much red sauce on your rice plate- the meal becomes too fucking hot! My mouth was burning for several minutes while watching the NBA Final game. In the future, I may just stick to the white sauce.

The second thing I learned and this is very important. There is another halal cart on 53rd and 7th that serves the same food. The guys wear the 53rd and 6th yellow shirts.

Last night they were cooking lamb @ this stand to transfer to the 53rd and 6th location. There was actually a guy waiting to bring the finished lamb to the popular cart while I was getting my meal.

Basically the moral of this story is go to the cart on 53rd and 7th to avoid the long line. And think twice when asking to put extra hot sauce on the rice plate.

carnegie deli...

Didn't do much on a day in New York which featured the Puerto Rican Day Parade- unfortunately, I didn't make it... And the rubber match of the subway series @ Yankee Stadium where the Yankees annihilated the Mets 15-0 with Hideki Matsui hitting his second home run in the series aiding in the victory for the Yankees. I didn't go to Yankee Stadium either...

I ended up @ Carnegie Deli which is about four blocks from my niece's apartment and the hotel I'm staying @...

I went for "THE WOODY ALLEN." For the dedicated fresser only. Fresser is yiddish for glutton. Lotsa corned beef plus lotsa pastrami. $17.95.

I can eat, but I didn't even get close to eating half the meat, which is piled between four slices of bread. I asked for extra rye bread to go. The nice server didn't charge me extra for the bread, but he talked me into a slice of strawberry cheesecake $9.95. His recommendation was spot on. I ate about a quarter of the slice. The cheesecake is simply phenomenal!

I like how the server gave me two glasses of water when I asked him for aqua. Those small old fashion water glasses don't cut it.

Hadn't been to Carnegie Deli for three years. More than likely, I won't go another three years between visits.

The couple next to me shared some homemade chicken broth soup with golden noodles $6.95. They present the broth with the light orange colored noodles on the side.

Hours are 6:30am to 4am daily. I went @ 4pm on Sunday and there were plenty of seats...

god of carnage...

Saw the 2pm show @ Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on 45th near 8th...

I had a standing room only ticket and the view was great, but standing for a 90 minute play is taxing especially when one has to walk so much in Manhattan...

"God of Carnage" stars Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini, and Marcia Gay Harden. Last Sunday, Marcia Gay Harden won the Tony Award for lead actress in a play. Marcia is phenomenal, but a close second is Jeff Daniels.

Both Hope Davis and "Tony Soprano" were great, although I thought Gandofini started off slow.

Playwright Yasmine Reza won the Tony for best play.

The play takes place in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Cobble Hill which has gotten some television time lately as the home of "Real Housewives of New York City" joined @ the hip couple- Silex. If you have stooped to watching shitty reality tv like I have- you'll know who I'm talking about...

shimizu restaurant on 51st between 8th and 9th...

It's located about a block from the hotel I'm staying @ and Shimizu is actually in the Washington Jefferson Hotel.

The joint basically closes @ 10pm on a Saturday night. The last orders are taken @ 10:15pm.

Small world, Geoffrey Gilmore formerly the festival director of the Sundance Film Festival was dining @ Shimizu while I was there. Gilmore is now the Chief Creative Director of the Tribeca Film Festival.

Now let's get to the food. I had the gindara yuan yaki- grilled black cod with a special soy sauce. The dish came with an assortment of mixed grilled vegetables- broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, and zucchini. It was a good sized portion and the cod was quite tasty... $22

My Mother had the regular sushi plate which includes maguro, hamachi, katsuo, sake, tamago, ebi, and tekka maki. It was very good. If the tamago is excellent @ a sushi bar, then the sushi should be excellent... $21

I found the service to be fair @ best...

what keeps me out of trouble...

Hanging out @ the 24HR Apple Store @ 2:45am, rather than wasting money @ Sapphire where I was 24 hours ago...

FYI, my blog is on Cali time. I'm currently on NY time...

otto on 8th and 5th...

A Mario Batali reasonably priced pizza joint. The actual address is One Fifth Avenue.

The gelato @ this pizzeria is fantastic! A first for me was partaking in roasted fennel "gelotto." It was good, it had an anise, not anus flavor. Probably won't try roasted fennel gelato again, yet it was interesting...

The creme fraiche gelotto is phenomenal!

an elite graduation ceremony in new york...

I was so very proud to attend my nephew's graduation from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine Postdoctoral Program with a Certificate in Periodontics.

The crazy thing is that there were more than a few elite looking chicks who were getting their specialty dental degrees and certificates.

For example, getting a root canal is no walk in the park, but having one of those female doctors I saw today @ the graduation ceremony work on my teeth wouldn't be a bad thing...

The above pic is from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine Postdoctoral website and has my nephew featured in the Periodontics section.

why, why, why...

Did I stay awake the whole redeye flight by watching movies on an airline provided DVD player?

"Taken" starring Liam Neeson was one of the films I watched. The guy is several years older than me and he was very believable as an action star. And I really feel for the guy for tragically losing his wife in a skiing accident.

The other film I watched was the nearly unwatchable and horrible "Confessions of a Shopaholic" starring Isla Fisher who was great in "Wedding Crashers." However, she lost points with me when she started dating Ali G/Borat/Bruno...

you're fired miss california...

Now, Carrie Prejean can work on the 700 Club or become that idiot Governor in Alaska's assistant...

Perhaps, Prejean can run for governor of California? If porn star Mary Carey can do it- so can Carrie...

Pictured is the new Miss California- Tami Ferrell from Malibu.

ny is on his way to ny...

It hasn't hit me yet, but tonight I'm taking a redeye to my favorite city in the world.

Hopefully, I can catch a Yankees game @ the new Yankee Stadium and take a short trip to Philly. The Yankees are playing the Mets in an interleague subway series, therefore tix may be difficult...

Plus, I want to catch that play that features James Gandolfini and Tony Award winner Marcia Gay Harden- "God of Carnage."

Gotta go to Gray's Papaya. I go to the one on Broadway between 72nd and 73rd.

Oh and yes, I need to go the Halal stand on 53nd and 6th which is actually run by two different companies- apparently the one @ night is better than the one during the day. I usually go during the day and the stuff tastes great to me!

More on NY in a newer post...

an iphone for $99...

The new iPhone will be available on June 19th.

There will a 16G model for $199 and a 32G model for $299.

New features will include a video camera, a compass, and auto-focus on the new 3MP camera.

I gather the $99 model is the current 8G $199 model and is available for purchase today.

iPhone 3.0 OS will be available on June 17. It's free for current iPhone users and $9.95 for existing iTouch users.

New iPhone is called 3GS. S=Speed. The new iPhone will much faster than the current model.

karen olivo...

She won a Tony Award for featured actress in a musical for "West Side Story." Karen played the role of Anita which was made famous by Chita Rivera and Rita Moreno.

Olivo was in last years Best Musical "In The Heights" which I saw last June about two weeks after the 2008 Tony Awards. Karen played the role of Vanessa and she was fantastic! I can't imagine anyone else in the role.

Her acceptance speech was from the heart and very touching. I'm very happy for her...

moderating comments on my blog...

I make it difficult for readers to comment on my blog, because I write for myself and if a reader doesn't agree with a post- they simply should quit reading my blog.

When I say I make it difficult. I believe one must have a gmail account to comment on my blog and I must approve the comment before it gets posted.

I wrote a post about Samantha Brown of the Travel Channel who I saw @ the Sundance Film Festival in January. And someone who apparently knows "Sam" didn't agree with my take on S Brown nearly six month later...

Prior to that day, I was a big fan of Brown. She's somewhat attractive, but her personality seemed fantastic on her shows on the Travel Channel.

Back in January, Brown was filming a segment for one of her shows @ about midnight @ the base of Main Street in Park City.

When I saw Samantha Brown, it was in between takes. She didn't look happy and as I wrote in my post- she actually looked mean.

I call them as I see them. That's what I saw. Was it a fair assessment of Samantha Brown? Probably not.

I still watch her shows. I'd venture to say she's a very nice person. Hell, I look mean a good majority of the time...

jack hannahan...

Why is this guy in the major leagues? He's batting .173 in 75 AB for the Oakland Athletics. The guy can't fucking hit...

Puppet manager Bob Geren is quoted as saying Hannahan is one of the best defensive third basemen in the league. When I say puppet manager, you know GM Billy Beane is pulling Geren's strings...

Let's see. Last season, Hannahan had 436 AB and batted .218 with 131 strike outs. I'd venture to say that is probably the lowest batting average of any player with 400 AB in the major leagues last season...

Perpetually injured Eric Chavez and Nomar Garciaparra who is also injured the majority of the time doesn't help matters @ 3rd base for the A's.

Bobby Crosby, the former starter @ shortstop has played every infield position for Oakland this season, but is batting only .203, which is still 30 points higher than Hannahan.

Why is this Hannahan kid so revered in the A's organization?

And I was correct, last season .218 was the lowest average of any major league player with 400 or more AB.

the hangover...

Saw the film @ the Sundance Kabuki Cinemas in the City.

I was happy the movie was shown in the big theater. Unfortunately, the balcony was sold out. Apparently, one can drink alcohol in the balcony.

The tickets are pricey @ $14 a piece, but you do have the opportunity to choose your own individual seat.

I've been going to the Kabuki Theaters in J-Town for many years, but this was the first time I went to these theaters since they were remodeled and taken over by Sundance.

Let's get to the film. "The Hangover" is a funny and entertaining film with virtually an unknown cast. Bradley Cooper is an actor that may be on a verge of stardom or he'll be just one of those actors people recognizes, but never becomes an A-Lister.

I've always been a fan of Heather Graham. I can't believe she's 39 years old?

Jeffrey Tambor is another recognizable actor. His signature role was as Larry Sanders/Garry Shandling's sidekick on "The Larry Sanders Show."

Mike Tyson in a cameo playing himself wasn't good. See him in the doc "Tyson" for a better read on the guy. Tragically, Tyson's young daughter recently passed away due to a household accident.

Ken Jeong who I've seen in "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and the film- "Knocked Up" played a stereotypical effeminate Asian which I found condescending toward Asian men...

The foursome stayed @ Caesar's Palace, but I found it odd that they gambled @ the dumpy Riviera.

Quite frankly, I expected a better film, but I still thoroughly enjoyed "The Hangover."

I must mention Rachael Harris, she plays the bitchy girlfriend of the dentist. She's been in a ton of commercials. T-Mobile and Quaker Snacks to name two.

opera @ at&t park on friday night...

It was free, therefore I had to check it out for a moment.

There was a big crowd watching a simulcast of "Tosca" @ the Park.

I didn't think I'd like opera since the last time I actually went to see live opera was in the seventies. The parents of my girlfriend @ that time bought us tickets and we met them before and after the opera. Our seats were separate from her parent's seats.

We probably ended up watching only minutes of the opera. We left during most of the performance to have sex.

I didn't stay long last night @ AT&T Park, but what I heard I liked.

Two scenes from films came to mind when I was watching "Tosca" on the big screen- "Victor Victoria" where Julie Andrews playing a woman, playing a man, playing a woman starts crying @ an opera with a embarrassed James Garner and "The Godfather 3" where Michael Corleone's son isn't in the family business, but an opera singer...

brian wilson closer for the giants...

I don't care if he has 14 saves. The guy is a disaster waiting to happen.

The guy lucked out against Washington on Thursday preserving Randy Johnson's 300th victory. To me, that 3-2 pitch with the bases loaded was a ball. It was low and it would have tied the game. The ump was looking out for Johnson.

I didn't see the game on Friday, but the guy walked three batters in one inning. So, I gather he walked the bases loaded and somehow got out of the inning without allowing a run giving Barry Zito a much needed victory.

It's obvious the guy needs to be replaced. Let's hope it's sooner than later...

Pictured is Barry Zito. He's the most overpaid, underachieving pitcher in baseball, but I like him way better than that head case Brian Wilson. I don't put up pictures of players I despise like Wilson and Rafer Alston...

never take a chick to vegas...

Unless, you're guaranteed to get laid...

Okay, last December I met a young lady @ the bar @ my club and I took her to Vegas on a whim. Luckily, I had three nights free @ the Wynn...

Let me be clear, we went to Vegas the same night I met her. I paid for her flight and gave her some gambling money.

Once we arrived in LV we played poker together @ the Wynn and after a short period of time, she won a big pot and she had the nerve to take off on me. I didn't see her for the rest of the night...

We shared a room with separate beds...

Didn't get close to sleeping with her and after I made sure she got back to San Francisco safely, I've never spoken to her since...

It's been nearly six months and I saw her Friday afternoon @ the club...

Man, she has a big ass!!

Sure, I wanted to have sex with her, but @ least she could have hung out with me for the rest of the night and if I didn't get laid- so be it. That's what I call a serious head case...

ny runs into john o'hurley once again...

First and foremost he's a dog lover. He travels with his dogs and his beautiful wife.

I was too drunk to realize what breed O'Hurley's dogs are.

I got off of the bus @ midnight on Friday night on Sacramento between Mason and Taylor and lo and behold, it was O'Hurley with his wife and they were walking their dogs!!!!

What a small world?

rafer alston...

Anyone who reads this blog knows that I can't stand Rafer Alston!

Yes, the whole Orlando team stunk it up from the field yesterday and Rafer's 2-9 was average amongst the starters, but the guy has terrible shot selection and he can't fucking shoot. He's shooting 37% from the field in the playoffs. His career average is 38%. The guy can't fucking shoot and he fucking shoots to much.

I hate the Lakers, but I just don't see how Orlando can beat them.

I'm glad that Jameer Nelson is back to take away minutes from Alston.

A team can't win a championship with Alston @ point guard. He's horrible!!

I can't believe that Alston has as many field goal attempts in the playoffs as Dwight Howard- 231. Dwight has made 141, Alston 87. Yes, Howard's attempts are in the paint, but Alston shouldn't be shooting so much. When the idiot was with Houston, he shot as much as Yao Ming- that's unfuckingbelievable!!

I know about Alston from his days in Fresno State and his street ball bullshit...

Pictured is a true point guard- Jameer Nelson when he led St. Joseph to a #1 seed in the East in the Big Dance in 2004. St. Joseph ended up advancing to the Elite Eight. Odd fellow Delonte West was his teammate. Going off on a tangent- I can't foresee St. Joseph in the Elite Eight again in my lifetime...

history in the making...

Erratic Brian Wilson needs two more outs to preserve Randy Johnson's 300th victory. The Giants lead 5-1.

Currently @ bat is Austin Kearns. Wilson strikes him out on a 3-2 count

Next up is Ronnie Belliard. Belliard gets an infield single.

Will Nieves. Strike 0-1. Foul ball 0-2. Strike out!

300 career wins for Randy Johnson.

The 45 year old Johnson is the second oldest to reach 300. Knuckle baller Phil Niekro won his 300th game @ 46.

bryce harper...

A sixteen year old kid from Las Vegas who just completed his sophomore season of high school baseball is on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Give me a fucking break!

Yes, I saw a YouTube video of him crushing home runs with an aluminum bat and his high school stats are unbelievable.

Tom Verducci of SI writes about the kid like he has a school girl crush on him.

The kid has a great swing that generates an abundance of power.

The kid is quoted as saying he wants to get into the Hall of Fame, play in Yankee Stadium, and wear pinstripes.

He needs make the majors first. I'm fairly certain he will, but you just never know? Can he hit a curve ball? Will he be able to transition from an aluminum bat to a wooden bat? Will all this hype get to his head? And injury can curtail anybodies potential...

Another problem is he'll probably be represented by Scott Boras...

athletic director of the academy of art...

Jamie Williams ex-Niner and the guy has been on the job for three years...

Go figure?

Their nickname is the Urban Knights. Good name...

Apparently the Academy of Art which seems to own nearly every other building in town sports 14 teams including men's and women's basketball.

My question is what Division they play in and where do they practice?

The idiot in the Chron who wrote about Williams didn't answer my question in his article. A dude that writes about the arts shouldn't try to write an article that has a sports theme to it. Obviously, the guy doesn't know jack shit about sports...

I could do some research, but I really don't give a fuck...

an ex-trainer @ my gym...

Another blind post...

She thought she was better than she really is. Hypothetically, if you bought her for what she's worth and sold her for what she thinks she's worth, you'd make a ton of money.

What I didn't like about her was she was a type of person who made promises that she couldn't keep. I fucking hate people like that! Specific examples- I'm making such and such and I'll bring some in for you or I'll bring some coffee in for you. Obviously, I didn't get jack shit...

This town is so small that I heard she picked up a random man @ a restaurant/bar that I frequent in the afternoon and later in the evening took him home...

For some crazy reason, I happened to meet this particular guy one afternoon @ the same restaurant/bar and her name came up out of the blue? Wow!

Rumor has it that she slept with two younger men who I personally know. And the way her mind works, she made each young man think the other guy was the pursuer. Basically saying that the other guy was bothering her. Unfuckingreal...

Who is she? It fucking doesn't matter, since she's long gone...

Did I sleep with her? No. Did I want to? Maybe for a New York minute, but after I realized what her character was all about, I cut off contact with her...

a tall person @ my club...

He's a nice guy, but the dude always smells of onions and I fucking hate onions...

Actually, who likes the smell of onions?

The onion odor actually permeates out of his pores...

It probably hurts his social life...

keith aki...

I haven't seen him for nearly two years...

I ran into Keith @ the Giant/Cards game on Sunday. He was with his two lovely daughters Kiana and Kaila ages 10 and 3. I writing this post to remember their names. I'm shitty @ remembering names...

I spent the whole game hanging out with them. Waiting in line to try to procure a Bengie Molina bobblehead. We waited for about three innings without success...

Going to the build-a-bear area near the gigantic Coke bottle to make a birth certificate for Kiana's bear she got in a promotion on Saturday. That area is a money making entity...

And basically watching the whole game on television as opposed to sitting in our seats and watching the game live...

Anyway, it was great to run into Keith Aki and his daughters...

departures/okuribito...

I was really looking forward to seeing this film...

I've been aware of the lead actor Masahiro Motoki since the early eighties when he was a teen idol in Japan.

Two films that I saw Motoki in the past ten plus years that he impressed me in are "Rampo" or "The Mystery of Rampo" which I saw @ the Hawaii International Film Festival when the films were actually free, which played @ the now defunct Marina Twin Theaters next to the near defunct Ilikai Hotel and "The Bird People of China" part of the San Francisco International Film Festival.

Masahiro Motoki was also in the original "Shall We Dance?"

Motoki's acting in "Okuribito" is nothing short of superb...

One of his costars in the film is Tsutomu Yamazaki who is best known for his starring role in "Tampopo"

What I got out of this film was how precious this life is. We need to eat to survive, but watching two scenes where the main characters ate food with such passion almost brought tears to my eyes. That fried chicken looked "umai!"

And accepting and appreciating loved ones for who they are...
