the giants vs the a's...

I went to the game last night and sat in the Club Level nearly directly behind home plate. I love Club Level seats! I just can't afford them on a consistent basis. On a cold evening, Club Level is the only way to go...

The A's have had the Giants # for several seasons. It's bordering on the ridiculous! I'm almost becoming more of an A's fan after the post Bonds era. I was really pissed after Billy Beane traded away Haren and Swisher, but Oakland really doesn't miss either player.

Signing Aaron Rowand was a good addition to the Giants, but Rowand isn't a kind of player you build a team around, he's more of complimentary player- which he was with the White Sox when they won the World Series and with the Phillies. Watching the G-Men can be very boring, because they have no pop in their lineup. Molina has hit fairly well, but his defense is a liability and he's a double play waiting to happen.

As my friend Allen Nakamura states, "Vizquel is through." I now believe him. He's still great defensively, but he's hitting under the Mendoza Line. FYI- that's a batting average under .200.

On a positive note, the Giants had a great amateur draft according to many experts.

Tim Lincecum should be an All-Star and closer Brian Wilson has really come into his own... I think it's time the Giants trade Cain when he has value and before he gets fat like Joe Blanton. Actually, he may be as fat as Joe Blanton @ this moment in time... Cain has a live arm and he threw 11Ks last night, but he's 10-21 the past two seasons and his career record is only 25-34. It's hard to believe, but Zito has a better record than Cain the past two seasons and Zito is 2-10 thus far this year.

And one last note, it's time to get rid of Vinnie Chulk- when he's in the game, he makes matters worse and you know the Giants are going to lose...
